Rob Da Bank, Hudson Mohawke, and more for BLOC Weekendincluding Richard Devine, Drums Of Death, and BLOC resident DJsTuesday 25th November 2008 BLOC Weekend the festival with three days of electronic music at Butlins Resort, Minehead, Somerset from Friday 13th until Sunday 15th March have announced more acts for various stages over the weekend. BLOC have confirmed Scottish based Numbers DJs, who will feature dubstep and WARP record signings including Martyn, Hudson Mohawke, and Rustie.
There's a new addition to Split And Tilted Disco Arena which will be spearheaded by their longtime resident Colin Dale, and also added to the BLOC Weekend bill is East London's italo-disco crew Cocadisco featuring a selection of their resident DJs! Final new additions to the line-up include Busy P, DJ and owner of Ed Banger records, and 10 BLOC Residents: James Tec, Oliver Way, Rebel Intelligence, Joe Hart, George 'Skull' Hull & Jerome Hill, Billy Nasty, DJ Radioactive Man, EDMX, and Luke's Anger (live). The BLOC line-up is shaping up nicely with something like 60+ international acts due to play in total, including The Future Sound of London, Lee Scratch Perry, Carl Craig, Mad Professor, Zion Train, Jamie Lidell, Afika Bambaata, and Frequency 7 (Ben Sims v Surgeon). For the line-up details as available please click here. BLOC Weekend has moved from Norfolk to the Somerset Butlins Holiday Camp. The new site offers self-catered heated chalet accommodation, with ensuite and are equipped with beds, kitchen, showers and all mod cons. Butlins, Minehead is equipped with a supermarket, newsagent, cash points and restaurants. Onsite facilities include a Splash Water World - a sub-tropical environment that has a wave pool, a swimming pool, 3 flumes and also a flume based raft ride, plus ten-pin bowling and an amusement arcade. Tickets for BLOC weekend are priced at £125 per person and bookings are done per chalet. Tickets have to be bought in groups of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 according to the size of the apartment wanted. 'Self-Catering' apartments have a kitchen and a separate living room, and 'Room-Only' apartments do not. To buy tickets, click here.
