Aphex Twin for BLOC Weekend

BLOC Weekend the festival with three days of electronic music at Butlins Resort, Minehead, Somerset from Friday 13th until Sunday 15th March have announced more acts for the weekend.

Richard D. James, better known as Aphex Twin, is to headline BLOC in collaboration with fellow Rephlex artist Heckler. Hecker is the Austrian sound artist Florian Hecker, renowned for his dystopian and industrial soundscapes and collaborations with artists such as Russell Haswell, Peter Rehberg, Yasunao Tone and Angela Bulloch.

The confirmed BLOC line-up so far includes The Future Sound of London; Jamie Lidell; Carl Craig; Afrika Bambaataa; Skream; Benga; Metro Area; Altern-8; 4Hero; Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry; Scientist; Digital Mystikz; Kode 9; Ed Rush and Optical; Mad Professor; Modeselektor and Pfadfinderei; Beardyman; Rob Da Bank; and many more. BLOC Weekend has moved from Norfolk to the Somerset Butlins Holiday Camp. The new site offers self-catered heated chalet accommodation, with ensuite and are equipped with beds, kitchen, showers and all mod cons.

Butlins, Minehead is equipped with a supermarket, newsagent, cash points and restaurants. Onsite facilities include a Splash Water World - a sub-tropical environment that has a wave pool, a swimming pool, 3 flumes and also a flume based raft ride, plus ten-pin bowling and an amusement arcade.

Tickets for BLOC weekend are priced at £125 per person and bookings are done per chalet. Tickets have to be bought in groups of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 according to the size of the apartment wanted. 'Self-Catering' apartments have a kitchen and a separate living room, and 'Room-Only' apartments do not.
