Placebo confirmed as latest headliner for Rock Nessplaying as a Scottish exclusiveMonday 16th February 2009 Placebo will headline Sunday at this year's Rock Ness festival, as a Scottish festival exclusive.
Placebo's Sunday headline slot will be as part of their world tour to promote their new and as-yet-untitled sixth studio album. Rock Ness Festival goers will be amongst the first to hear the exciting new material at this Scottish festival exclusive. Rock Ness, Festival Director Jim King said of their confirmed appearacne at the festival, "Placebo are a really great band live and when you listen to his lyrics you can see why Brian Molko is one his generation's great rock poets.These guys rarely tour and so catching them at RockNess is a real must for the summer." Other acts confirmed for the banks of Loch Ness include The Flaming Lips headlining on Friday, Basement Jaxx, Orbital, and Dizzee Rascal who will play on the Saturday, with Biffy Clyro and The Prodigy playing on the Sunday.Rock Ness has also announced Super Furry Animals, David Guetta, The Wombats, Erol Alkan, Zane Lowe, Rob Da Bank, and more. Ticket buyers can make a down payment of £30 and pay the balance later. A limited number of tickets at the Early Bird prices were available. All tickets are now on sale with 1 day, 2 day or 3 day tickets available, and camping available. Rock Ness also enables festival goers to park and camp directly beside the Arena. Ticket prices: Non camping tickets: £55 for day ticket (Friday £45), £105 for 2 day (Sat + Sun) non camping ticket, or £130 for 3 day non camping ticket. Campsites will open at 10am on the Friday, and with the Nesstival area opening as normal in the afternoon and offering a diverse weekend of entertainment.
