Wizard announce Levellers as headliners

plus new additions The Beat, and The Travelling Band

Thursday 9th April 2009

Levellers have been announced to perform at this year's Scotland's Wizard Festival.

Levellers
The Levellers will appear at the event as a Scottish festival exclusive, and will be headlining the main stage, the Voodoo stage, on Friday 28th August.

The folk punk band, will be supported on the main stage by 2 Tone Ska legends The Beat. Also appearing at Wizard this summer on the main stage on Saturday will be The Travelling Band.
Roy Thain festival organiser said, "The fact that we have secured a band like The Levellers at Wizard as a Scottish festival exclusive performance says a lot about the status of the acts that we are now attracting to perform at the festival. We want to provide North east music fans with the opportunity to see an exciting mix of music at Wizard reflecting a 'something for everyone' policy. We believe that the acts we have announced so far add up to a real treat for music lovers and we intend to keep working hard on the bill to provide fans with three great stages of live music."

The Wizard Festival takes place at Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, in Scotland and runs over the August bank holiday weekend on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th August.

They join the two previously announced acts The Charlatans who are headlining on Saturday, with Buzzcocks in support.More acts will be named over the coming weeks as Wizard organisers pull together a diverse line-up of performers for the North East festival.

Tickets are on sale priced at £70 for an adult weekend ticket (includes camping & parking from 1pm Fri to noon Sun) or £45 for a Saturday adult day ticket (includes camping & parking Saturday only), a campervan/caravan ticket is priced at £20. Children 12 years old and under go free.
