Tuesday 2nd June 2009

St Etienne, The Temper Trap, and Kap Bambino are amongst the latest additions for Latitude Festival. Both St Etienne, and The Temper Trap, have been added to the Uncut Arena, whilst Kap Bambino will perform in the Sunrise Arena.

Newly added for the Film and Music Arena are Future Cinema Presents Black Cat White Cat with Taraf de Haidouks - Taraf De Haidouks, one of the biggest gypsy bands in the world will start to play near the Obelisk Arena after the last concert and travel to the Film and Music tent collecting a large following on the way; Noise Of Art presents ‘Love Bites – The Dance Of The Vampires - the soundtrack to Love Bites has been specially created for Latitude festival by a collaboration between They Came From The Stars I Saw Them, Serge Santiago and Les Hommes Du Train (the alter ego of Noise of Art founder) Ben Osborne; Vashti Bunyan: From Here to Before with Kieran Evans, Adem & Friends - a feature documentary about influential UK singer songwriter Vashti Bunyan, featuring a performance from contributor Adem live onstage; Turner Prize Winner Jeremy Deller will give a talk; Jeremy Warmsley - performing the bizarrely beautiful songs of Tom Waits and Daniel Johnston; One eskimO - will be bringing the worlds of film and music together, with the band playing in front of a big screen showing films of the trials and tribulations of One eskimO and friends; London Short Film Festival- presenting the cream of the short film crop; and 2006 film Night Of The Living Dead in 3D.

New for the Literary Arena is comedian Frank Skinner - discussing his life and work as featured in his new book Frank Skinner ‘On The Road’; Grace Maxwell & Edwyn Collins talk about Grace's book 'Falling and Laughing: The Restoration Of Edwyn Collins'; there's also Punk Fiction with Cathi Unsworth, Nicholas Hogg, Janine Bullman, Salena Godden, Dev Hynes, and Lee Bullman.
