more acts for 'Flower Powered' Beautiful DaysThe Living End, Howard Marks, Tom Middleton, comedy, and drum n bassMonday 8th June 2009 The Living End, Howard Marks, and Tom Middleton lead the latest confirmed acts for this summer's Beautiful Days festival.
For dance fans new additions include Mr. Nice, Maxxi P, Uno, Destruction, Aural Imbalance, Johnny G, Dread MC, Mello D, Ben & Lex, James Gill, and Andromeda. Also confirmed to appear on the comedy line-up in The Little Big Top are Duncan Oakley, Jeff Innocent, Martin Soan, Liam Mullone, Keith Platt, Mitch Benn, Barry Castagnola, with compere Scary Dave. The festival's 2009 theme has been announced as 'Flower Power' a colourful theme offering fancy dress wearers the chance to pick something retro, psychedelic, or hippie. These latest additions to the line-up join Hawkwind as Friday night headliners, The Pogues are headlining Saturday night, and Levellers will headline on the Sunday night and close the festival playing the album 'A Weapon Called the Word' in its entirety, plus a few other favourites, followed by a firework finale. Also performing are The Saw Doctors, Gong, Lamb, The Imagined Village, Pendulum (DJ set), Dub Pistols, Cara Dillon, The King Blues, Eliza Carthy, Imelda May, Lau, Edward II, Kris Drever, John McCusker & Roddy Woomble Trio, John Smith, Sonic Boom Six, Les Truttes, Chris T-T, Jay Jay Pistolet, and Ruarri Joseph. The dates for the seventh Beautiful Days are confirmed as from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd August at Escot Park, near Fairmile, in Devon. The Devon festival features music across five stages, and street theatre, as well as site art and sculpture, lots of children's activities with a huge children's area in the centre of the festival, theatre, comedy, family camping, camping facilities, licensed bars from local company Otter Brewery, world food, craft stalls, fancy dress, a 'village shop' on site, and more. There is plenty of family camping close to the car parks, which will be clearly signposted. Tickets for Beautiful Days 2009 are priced as follows.
