Iron Maiden, and Rammstein to headline 3 day Sonisphere 2010

plus five more festival exclusive acts announced, tickets on sale now

Wednesday 9th December 2009

Iron Maiden, and Rammstein, have been confirmed as headliners for next year's Sonisphere festival.

Iron Maiden
Iron Maiden will perform their only UK show of 2010 and Rammstein will make their first ever (and only 2010) UK festival appearance at Sonisphere 2010.

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson said, "Knebworth has been the home of so many legendary concerts going back many years it really will be a privilege to play there. We enjoy the camaraderie of playing great festivals and are very much looking forward to getting back out to do some shows next summer and, as it will be over two years since we played the UK, we will certainly be looking to deliver a memorable and spectacular night for our fans!"

Rammstein added, "The great support that we've experienced from the UK fans has been beyond anything we expected. This will be the first time that Rammstein has appeared at a festival in the UK and we are looking forward to putting on a show that no-one will ever forget!"

Knebworth will also see Festival UK exclusive appearances from Motley Crue, Alice Cooper headlining the Saturn Stage on Rocky Horror show themed Friday, The Cult, Slayer, Iggy & The Stooges, and Anthrax, with many more still to be announced.

The new rock festival which started last year is back for more at Hertfordshire's Knebworth House, and happening from Friday 30th July until Sunday 1st August 2010.

Tickets are on sale. Weekend tickets are priced at £132.50, or £157.50 with camping. Lockers are priced at £10, and parking is also £10 in advance or £20 on the day. And early arrival camping entry ticket is priced at £5, and tickets for camper vans are priced at £40.

Entry to the festival will now be free of charge for under 12s. Parents should purchase their own tickets and then take their child with them to the Box Office on arrival to be issued with a complementary wristband. Please note that proof of age may be asked for. Sonisphere has abolished booking fees for ticket buyers.

There is also a deposit scheme where £40 per person paid now secures a weekend ticket order. The full balance of a deposit ticket plus any extras such as car pass, lockers etc must be paid by May 31st 2010. The first several thousand tickets paid for in full will come with a free ticket for Sonisphere Poland.

Regular campers will have access to the campsite from 12pm on the Friday, but for a mere £5, the festival campsite will open for early campers at 3pm on Thursday 29th July, with Bohemia village open from 6pm Thursday right through until 3am Sunday morning, for non-stop fun with white knuckle rides, dodgems, arcades, comedy, massage, bars, market stalls, and cafes to chill out in.

The event is expected to once again have one main arena with a stage at either end, as well as a two tented stages. The two outdoor stages, will have around a dozen acts alternating between one stage and another to keep the music continuous, whilst not having two acts playing at the same time.

Sonisphere will also going on the road, touring Europe, visiting countries throughout Europe in the run-up to Knebworth including Poland (16th June), Switzerland (18th June) Czech republic (19th June), Bulgaria (22nd-23rd June), Greece (24th June), Romania (25th-27th June), Turkey (25th-27th June), Spain (10th July), Sweden (7th August), and Finland (7th-8th August).
