Glastonbury Festival will be showing England's World Cup match
Wedneday game coverage confirmed
Monday 14th December 2009
Festival organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed on her twitter (here) in reply to an eFestivals forum user's question that England's World Cup 2010 match will be shown on the big screens at next year's Glastonbury Festival.
Emily Eavis' twitters states:
"Yes, we'll be showing the Weds game on the Pyramid screens."
The England football team are due to play Slovenia in their final group game of the World Cup at 3pm on Wednesday 23rd June – the first day of the festival when the main Pyramid Stage is not used for acts. The first acts do not play the main stage until the Friday of the Festival.
Whilst the tweet confirms the first England match played whilst the Festival is on. Football fans do not know yet whether they will be able to see the England team's next game, assuming they qualify from their group stage.
If the team do qualify for the knock-out stages of the competition their next game is due to take place either at 7:30pm on Saturday 27th June or at 3pm on Sunday 28th June depending upon how well they do at the tournament held in South Africa. Both these time slots would clash with main stage entertainment.
Wednesday 23rd until Sunday 27th June 2010 across a 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset. There will be no more tickets on sale until sometime early in 2010.
As usual eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours between now and the official line-up announcement at the end of May/beginning of June, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2010 rumours, updated as we receive information.
