Model 500 for BLOC WeekendSaturday headliners celebrating 25 years of MetroplexThursday 11th February 2010 BLOC Weekend has added more legendary acts to it's already impressive line-up with Model 500 announced as another headliner for this year's BLOC Weekend. Two more massive acts from the world of techno have been announced as headliners on the main stage on Saturday night will be Model 500, featuring Juan Atkins, joined by 'Mad' Mike Banks, DJ Skurge, and Mark Taylor. Juan Atkins is widely credited as an originator of techno music and 'Mad' Mike Banks founded Underground Resistance, the musical collective from Detroit, with Jeff Mills. They will join the previously announced Derrick May to represent Detroit Motor City, the home of techno, at BLOC 2010. Derrick May will then headline the Sunday night, closing BLOC down with the final set of the weekend. They join a legendary line-up of 60+ international acts including The Beastie Boy's Mixmaster Mike, Salt N Pepa, Grandmaster Flash, Adam Beyer, Skream B2B Benga, Luke Vibert, Congo Natty aka Rebel MC, MJ Cole, Kode 9, Roots Manuva, Autechre, Ms Dynamite, Wiley, Derrick May, Luke Slater, Lindstrom, Anti-Pop Consortium, Surgeon, Nathan Fake, Joker, Mark Ernestus feat. One of the leading indoor underground music events BLOC weekend is three days of independent electronic music, held once again at Butlins Resort, Minehead, Somerset from Friday 12 to Sunday 14th March 2010 offering self-catered heated chalet accommodation, with ensuite equipped with beds, kitchen, showers and all mod cons. Butlins, Minehead is equipped with a supermarket, newsagent, cash points and restaurants. Onsite facilities include a Splash Water World - a sub-tropical environment that has a wave pool, a swimming pool, 3 flumes and also a flume based raft ride, plus ten-pin bowling and an amusement arcade.
