Vampire Weekend announced for Eden Sessionswith Broken Bells also confirmedTuesday 20th April 2010 Vampire Weekend, and Broken Bells have been announced for the opening night of Cornwall's Eden Sessions.
The New York indie quartet, named after a film made by lead-singer Ezra Koenig, first played against the backdrop of the Biomes in 2008 when they were special guests to The Raconteurs. Tjarko Wieringa, Eden Sessions Creative Director, said: "We're thrilled to be welcoming Vampire Weekend back to Eden after they played such a magnificent set here two years ago. In the intervening period they've become one of the biggest and best indie bands in the world and, with two albums now under their belts, have created an unmistakable sound. "We're also in the privileged position to be able to showcase Broken Bells, a collaboration between one of the best producers in the world and the singer-songwriter of The Shins, one of the finest indie bands of recent years. What a fantastic way to kick off a summer of live music at Eden!" Tickets will be priced at £35 and will go on general sale at 6pm on Tuesday 27th April, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then. This year the Eden Sessions are now in their 9th season. Vampire Weekend and Broken Bells join a Sessions line-up, which also features:- Vampire Weekend, Broken Bells - Thursday 24th June. Jack Johnson, Mojave 3 - Saturday 26th June - SOLD OUT. Mika - Sunday 27th June. Doves, Mumford & Sons - Friday 2nd July - SOLD OUT. Calvin Harris, Audio Bullys, Annie Mac, Reverend Soundsystem - Saturday 3rd July. Paolo Nutini & Martha Wainwright - Tuesday 13th July - SOLD OUT. Tickets are priced at £35, Calvin Harris and Mika tickets are on sale. Tickets for Vampire Weekend go on general release on Tuesday 27th April at 6pm. To buy tickets, click here. The Sessions are famed not only for bringing top acts to Cornwall but also for their festival feel, with extra bands and entertainers playing around the site in the run-up to the main event.
