Mungo Jerry, and Arthur Brown for GuilFest

plus FranKo, Lower Than Atlantis, and FuntCase

Thursday 3rd June 2010

Mungo Jerry and Crazy World of Arthur Brown are amongst the latest additions to be confirmed for next month's GuilFest.

Arthur Brown
Both acts are confirmed as playing the Good Time Guide Stage on Saturday, classic English folk/rock group Mungo Jerry. This will be the first time that three of the original members of the band have performed together since 1973! Led by the groups only original member, Ray Dorset, the band will be bringing 'Mungomania' to GuilFest along with their most famous instantly recognisable 1970's hit 'In The Summertime' - a song that stayed at number 1 in the UK charts for 7 weeks and has sold 30 million copies to date.

Bringing his 'Fire' back to GuilFest for the first time since 2003 Arthur Brown returns with his band The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. 'Fire' was a number 1 hit in 1968 and to to this day it still receives airplay around the world. It has also been covered by some of the most famous acts on the planet, including Ozzy Osbourne, The Prodigy and The Who. Infamous for setting himself on fire in legendary stage shows, Arthur has been cited as a major influence by artists such as Peter Gabriel, Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson and Alice Cooper.

New confirmations for The Rock Sound Cave are grunge punks Lower Than Atlantis playing Sunday and indie rockers FranKo, performing on Saturday.

New for 2010, GuilFest welcome the south-coast alternative party promoters Chaos to carry on the proceedings after the bands have finished on Friday and Saturday in the Rock Sound cave. Chaos are the longest running indie/alternative night on the South Coast and have been putting on highly successful parties for the last 18 years. DJ Will ChuMp will be running the party into the early hours.

Dubstepppa FuntCase (aka James Hazell) is confirmed to perform in The Funky End dance tent on Sunday. The Funky End Bar in Aldershot is currently taking submissions for a DJ competition taking place on Friday 25th June. The winner wins a set on Saturday in The Funky End Dance Tent at GuilFest 2010. Anyone wanting to enter should contact guilfest@funkyend.com.
