Bestival reveals The xx, and Sigur Rós, as exclusives

Bestival's website, (here), has revealed that The xx, and Sigur Ros will both be UK festival exclusives and lead a host of new bands and DJs confirmed for this September's 'Wildlife' themed Bestival with none of the main stage headliners revealed, it will be at least a week until the first of those for Saturday night is revealed.

The website also reveals the latest acts announced for the Isle Of Wight bash are Justice, Two Door Cinema Club, Hot Chip, Soulwax, Nero, Emeli Sande, De La Soul, Major Lazer, The Horrors, Spiritualized, Kevin Saunderson feat Inner City Live, Gary Numan, Michael Kiwanuka, Azealia Banks, Sub Focus, Gallows, Earth, Wind & Fire Experience feat Al McKay, Rizzle Kicks, The Cuban Brothers, Buraka Som Sistema, Bellowhead, Little Dragon, and Gold Panda.

Also confirmed today are live performances from Adam Ant And The Good The Mad And The Lovely Posse, Lianne La Havas, King Khan And The Shrines, Delilah, Friends, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, King Krule, Ane Brun, Chas & Dave, Dub Pistols, The Japanese Popstars, Charli XCX, Jaipur Kawa Brass Band, Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard, Slagsmalsklubben, Field Music, Church of Love & Ruin, Frankie Rose, and Milagres.

Crossing the Solent to appear at Bestival will be Three Bonzos And A Piano, Liz Green, Gabrielle Aplin, Prince Fatty, Fiction, 2:54, Turbowolf, This Is The Kit, Ghost Outfit, Patterns, Young British Artists, Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo, To Kill A King, L.A. Salami, Laurel Collective, ahab, Gecko, Heathward, Model Society, Skysphere, and Blackhouse Crow with many more still to be announced.

There's also a raft of new DJs including Rob da Bank himself plus 2manydjs, Annie Mac Presents, Four Tet (DJ Set) + Caribou (DJ Set) b2b, 2 Bears, David Rodigan presents RAM JAM, Claude Von Stroke, Justin Martin & Eats Everything, Francois Kevorkian, DJ Yoda, Maya Jane Coles, Scuba, LTJ Bukem, Plastician, Greg Wilson, Scratch Perverts, James Preistley & Giles Smith, Oneman b2b Jackmaster, Jaguar Skills, Ben UFO, PBR Streetgang, Shepdog, The Shellac Collective, and DJ Charge, with many more still to be announced.

Organiser Rob Da Bank says on the webstite, " So, here we are then! Announcing Bestival again - and another bumper selection of acts from across the musical world and styles. The xx at Bestival two years ago is in my top three Besti performances ever so I'm delighted they're hitting the main stage in 2012 and I've finally landed Sigur Rós, one of my all-time fave festival acts. From Justice to Azealia Banks, Spiritualized to Sister Sledge, I hope there's something for everyone and still three headliners to unveil shortly."

Rob Da Bank told 6Music that Friday's headliner will be announced later in the year, and that he was still looking for a bill topping act for the final night.

Bestival have already announced 12 brand new things for fans for this year and their Wildlife theme, Orbital as the closing act for the Big Top and Rob da Bank tweeted Sister Sledge, First Aid Kit, Friends, Camo & Krooked, MF Doom, Mosca, and Jinja Safari.

Bestival have also announced their new Premium camping area called the Wild Copse available to a limited number of ticket-holders and offering more space, high end facilities, its own car park, and a shuttle service running every five minutes 24 hours a day .

It shares catering and services with the boutique camping area including a chill-out bar, and pampering area and is close to the new healing area; the Soul Park and the expanded Arcadia Field featuring Mechanical Cabaret.

The ninth Bestival, will be held at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight, from Thursday 6th until Sunday 9th Septembewr 2012.

Tickets for Bestival sold out last year. Early Bird Tickets including entry from Thursday 6th September are priced at £170 for Adult Tickets and £110 for Teen (age 13-17) Tickets. For those arriving on or after Friday 7th September Adult Tickets are priced at £165 or £105 for Teen (age 13-17) Tickets. Tickets for children (age 12 & under) are free (but must have a ticket).

There is also a ticket Payment Plan available - pay a sixth of the total ticket price (plus booking fees & postage) now, with the further five payments spread across the following five consecutive months.

Campervan Tickets are priced at £65 (per vehicle) and are strictly limited to 1 per transaction/customer. Your Campervan must be specially adapted for people to stay in (which does not include transit vans with a mattress in the back or 4x4s with the seats folded down). If your vehicle is longer than 7 metres you will need to purchase two Campervan Tickets. Cars will not be allowed into the Campervan area at any time so consequentially Caravans, Trailer Tents etc are not permitted.
