Download, which takes place from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th June 2012 at Donington Park, Leicestershire is to honour the recent passing of Jim Marshall, whose name graces many a band's amp, by dedicating this year's main stage to 'the Father of Loud' and the man responsible for 'the Sound of Rock'.

Download promoter, Andy Copping said, "The music industry lost an innovator & a legend with the sad passing of Jim Marshall. We had to remember him in some way and having the main stage dedicated to his name seemed the perfect tribute."

With only eight weeks to go until Download Festival 2012, headlined this year by The Prodigy, Metallica, and Black Sabbath opens its gates, organisers have confirmed another 19 acts who'll appear across the weekend.

They are Breed 77, Ghost, Saint Jude, Shadows Fall, My Passion, Feed The Rhino, La Dispute, Lawnmower Deth, Six Hour Sundown, Silent Descent, With One Last Breath, The Union, No Americana, Royal Cartel, Tyla, The Dirty Youth, Yashin, Voodoo Johnson, and Sanguine.

Organizers have confirmed some of these acts will play the 5th stage, the return of the JägerRock Truck as The Jägermeister Acoustic stage.
