American blues rockers The Black Keys last night self confirmed themselves for this year's Glastonbury Festival when a mailer about their forthcoming album 'Turn Blue', released in May included the Festival on their tour dates.
The press release listed their summer festival tour dates and included an appearance at the Somerset Festival on Sunday 29th June.
This morning Glastonbury Festival's own official Twitter (@GlastoFest) confirmed the news with a retweet saying, "RT @zanelowe: Seeing @theblackkeys at @GlastoFest this year is the one!"
They join this year's Friday headliners Arcade Fire, plus Dolly Parton, Disclosure, Blondie, and Lily Allen as the first officially announced acts for this year's Festival which happens over five full days from Wednesday 25th until Sunday 29th June 2014 across over a 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset.
Those who have managed to put deposits down on Festival tickets (including coach, and international purchasers) will be getting emails this week reminding them that they must pay the balance of £160 (plus booking fee and postage) between Tuesday 1st and Monday 7th April.
Registration is temporarily closed, and will re-open on 27th March 2014. There is likely to be a resale of returned tickets sometime after registration closes again on 21st April.
The all important line-up will be revealed next month, Festival organiser Emily Eavis confirmed this last night with a replying Tweet to someone asking when it would be announced, saying, " Be with you soon, in April."
