Anna Calvi, Laurie Anderson, Tricky, Carleen Anderson, Kate Tempest, Squarepusher, Sam Lee, George The Poet, Hollie McNish, Gogo Penguin, Sherwood & Pinch, DakhaBrakha, Joey Arias, Dominic J Marshall Trio, Benjamin Clementine, and Julian Joseph Trio are among the acts confirmed as part of Brighton Festival's contemporary music programme.

This year's Guest Director is Scottish author Ali Smith who takes the helm of the arts celebration now in its 49th year and taking place from Saturday 2nd to Monday 25th May 2015.

Alongside a range of theatre, dance, film and literature events, including Brighton Festival Exclusive of Saint Etienne's film 'How We Used to Live' with St Etienne accompanied by an eight-piece band performing Pete Wiggs'soundtrack. Also a UK Premiere for the Brighton Festival, is a screening of 'The Duke of Burgundy' scored by Cats Eyes.

Throughout three weeks of entertainment the festival aims to bring great art to Brighton, and to harness the creative energy of the city to make great new art of its own. Other events include a full programme of visual arts & film, books and debate, classical music, dance & circus, programming for children, lunchtime concerts, outdoor events, and theatre.

Ticket prices vary depending on events, many of them are free.
