Freeze Festival 2010

Friday 29th to Sunday 31st October 2010
Battersea Power Station, Wandsworth, London, England MAP
3 Day Pass: adult £86, children (8-13) £35 - day ticket £36, children £15

The festival was held with the famous London landmark, The Battersea Power station as part of the backdrop, small but very well managed by the stewards. Gates opened at 12 noon. There were plenty of food outlets and shops aimed towards skiing and snowboarding, including the retail village where multiple shops and coffee bars and a video console area.

Drinks were also available, both alcohol and non-alcohol. The Apres Ski bar, Jagermeister, and the Ice Bar were the main alcoholic bars.

A VIP bar was another feature of the festival, people who had VIP bands were allowed to watch the fun of the ski ramp. A cinema which was showing snow sports related films.

A big ski-ramp where professional athletes from Britain and around the world, snowboarders and skiers showed of their skills to the delights of the crowds. Billy Morgan won the Best of Britain the first snowboarding competition

The Animal Relentless Mountain Bike tour featured Martin Ashton and Blake Samson up to their usual bike tricks of flying through the air, jumping the bar, crushing cans and performing the 'ladder of death'.

The festival offered more than ski ramps and mountain bike tours for the entertainment. It had 3 music tents. The main stage, The Relentless stage and the Desperado Dome.

Friday had acts from the Drum 'n' Bass world, most notably Krafty Kuts ft MC Dynamite, and Roni Size ft MC Jakes.

The Relentless stage had a different mixture of genres, while the Desperado Dome focused on Human beatbox and DJs from FBBB (For Boarders By Boarders) while enjoying tequila flavoured beer.

Two areas set aside where artists of a different type. Graffiti and murals artists showed their art while being watched by onlookers, though no sign of Banksy here. The F&M area where the athletes of the snow variety plus some musicians signed autographs for fans.
