Glastonbury 1999....................What a difference in clothing, weather and smiles on peoples faces. What an excellent way to spend a 'Sunny' June weekend.
After sailing over from Jersey and driving up in the small hours of Thursday night, we were finally greeted with the Glastonbury queues. Seeing the hedge row 5 times was a good taster scene for my fellow Virgin Glasto travellers.
Although I had been last year, I couldn't put into words as to what they would expect to see in the way hundreds of 'true' camper Vans, camping in the many camper fields and thousands of fun loving festival go'ers.
The weekend was excellent with the entertainment of REM and Lenny Kravitz making a long lasting memory.
A couple of things that would stick in mind though, is this conversation. I am sure it ring true in many of your minds.
No 1: I need to go to the toilet.
No 2: Okay, but word of advice........ hold your breath and don't look down.
TIME PASSES.
No 1: Oh my God, I wish I didn't have eyes!!!!!!!
Finally, thanks to all the people in the campers and motor homes, who pushed in the queue on Monday. 10hrs of waiting and the unfortunate missing of the boat home went done very well. !!! And a hello message to Alex and Emma who invented the Magic blanket and took us around the festival in true Arabian style.
Anyway, here is to next years Glastonbury and another well organised and enjoyable festival.
