Glastonbury 2000 was my best Glasto! We went there with the attitude of leaving our problems at home - this was our only 2000 holiday and it was going to be good! Arriving on Wednesday afternoon was lovely, perfect weather, not crowded, places to camp!!! We were unappreciative of our 'neighbours' who suddenly appeared inches from our tent door preventing us from getting in/out easily but it was the w****** camped next to us that did my head in - still, I chose to be out and about for maximum amounts of time anyway!
Everyone has their own opinion of the state of the toilets. Personally I thought they were good compared to recent years but nearing the end you had to lower your standards of where you were willing to go, or else have lots of clean underwear at hand!
I was a bit disappointed to find the Glade finishing midnight-ish, many people were gathered there and everything was there to make a good party but we had to scour the festival for other sound systems - not complaining though, enjoyed the mission!
The crime aspect was always prominent, I suggest more carpark security, you'd be mad not to.
The main areas of the festival didn't tempt me anywhere near as much as the greenfields which I found held the true free spirit of Glastonbury. I did check out some dj's at the dance tent, jazz stage, glade and other sound systems which were top class and enjoyed chilling at the sacred stones, a mystical atmosphere where you could lie under the stars, watching the firework displays and hearing the constant rhythmic chanting of peoples names/drugs to sell/drugs to buy/random comments along with the bongo's, fire jugglers and whatever other shyeeat went down!
All in all a wicked week, can't wait for the next one!
