Following in my opinion the best glasto ever (99) for atmosphere this years line-up other than Bowie and Leftfield hardly inspired me. Travis are incredibly dull and overated, I feel sorry for the 70,000 odd people who had to endure his irrelevant mumblings let alone the music. I have noticed in recent years the increasingly apparent presence of gangs of threatening thugs who hang around menacingly in gangs of about 10-15 complete with reebok classics, football socks tucked over tracksuit bottems with designer coat/tracksuit top and pork pie hat. They are either a) drunk and abusive b) seen coming through fence c) selling drugs (wanna any pills mate?) d) carrying and selling packs of Stella e) wandering around the camping fields kicking tents for reaction before stealing it's belongings or f) doing anything but enjoying the atmosphere or music. They are becoming increasingly prevalent and my solution is to make them consume all their drugs in one if caught.
Memories
of Glasto 2000:
Highs
- ADF, Chemical Bros, Leftfield, Happy Mondays, Bowie
Sights
- people fighting over cans of stella during Happy Mondays set
- someones tent blowing up near other stage on sunday night after Bowie
- extremely tall fat bloke falling on and collapsing somebodies tent with
it's occupants in it
- too many gangs of dodgy people being obnoxious
