Worthy Farm, Pilton, nr Glastonbury, Somerset, England

Me and my friend saw some excellent bands in the Obscurities tent in the green fields. Previously I've always stuck to the Main and other stages.

But this year I was glad I saw some new, up and coming bands. TUT on Friday night were excellent, a mixture of punk and folk. Celtica , very dancey!! and Sieze the Day were very good (an 8 piece (I think!) band) with a mixture of mandolins, tin whistles and flutes, and politically powerful. We also enjoyed the Waterboys in the Acoustic tent on Friday, but Why didn't they open up the tent? It was far too crowded and hot inside. I saw Travis, excellent performers and funny with it, especially when he burped down the microphone. Suzanne Vega also pulled in a large crowd on Sun eve (surprisingly, I thought!!), with her beautiful, soft melodies. What an excellent end to the festival!!
