I couldn't decide where to go after Muse had done the big show bit and gone all noodling guitar. The Other Stage was overflowing with Orbital fans and we couldn't get anywhere near the Glade to see System 7. So we thought we'd catch the fire display finale and instead we happened upon a large outdoor crowd in stitches of laughter.
We had found Bill Bailey on an outdoor stage in the Circus/Theatre fields and it was a terrific end to the Festival. From takes on Portishead do the 'new' national anthem to jokes about how good we are as a nation at being, well mediocre and we laughed and so did everyone else. It was a great end to the festival, to finish it with laughter. He's a comedy genius and in bad light slightly badgerish!
An unexpected delight and we also happened to be in the perfect place for viewing the firework finale and the fire field display and a giant praying mantis. Sounds like Bill Bailey material to me!
