Ahh, now who to see tonight as headliners? Well, the weather's been a bit miserable and who better to put a huge grin on our faces and have a dance about to than the Saw Doctors? Well possibly some act a long way off on the Pyramid is playing as it's Saturday but as we're in the nearby Bimble Inn, our best option is to head for the Avalon tent!
And boy did we make the right decision, crossing the mud moat to get there, the boys are already in full flow, and everyone young and old is raising the roof in chorus along to the tunes I know so well.
The vibe in the tent is fantastic, and of course in all the mud the line 'Grass is Green' from 'N17' is sung so loudly it's possible the crowd at 'The Killers' can hear us. All the usual classics are played tonight and it's a hot, sweaty, happy sing along, that has both us and the band delighted. What a roar they receive at the end!
Powerful songs indeed and just what the doctors ordered. Superb, festival band who really threw in all the stops to make this a performance to remember. 'That's What She Said Last Night' was the song of the night for me and did I say the band were really up for this scintillating performance too? Guess it's the Irish weather brings out the best in them.
