For many this is one of the first bands they get to see due to a huge entry problem on the first day. We were hoping to see Groove Armada but a huge queue at the entrance which trailed back nearly a mile meant our hopes were dashed. So we settled instead to watch the Sterephonics.

I don’t actually like them, okay, not normally, but clearly the Solent air did something to my brain because I left hoarse from singing along to tunes from their first album.

So it appeared that Kelly wanted to look like Liam Gallagher and growled out all the tunes but I could live with that. Pick a Path That’s New and Have a Nice Day are particularly good festival tunes and we’re all so happy to be at a festival that we smile at our fellow festival goers and toast the weekend with beers making new friends for the weekend.

They are certainly accomplished enough to be worthy as the Friday night headliner but the over use of a wah wah peddle does start to get on my nerves. My daughter on the other hand cites them as the best band of the weekend and 'Have A Nice Day' has become her festival anthem. I have to concede they were on form on the night!
