“Hello is everybody nice and stoned?” asks the rather delectable Kate. Supported by four other band members including a talented drummer in an AC/DC shirt, a great gookie guitarist and a female bass player. She delivers a selection of her songs about life as a girlie and the pressures they face.

Yup one song is written while reading an article in Now magazine, it’s called ‘Beautiful Girl’ and it may be a familiar message about the short term lifespan of being a model and how long it takes to look beautiful for the press but it’s well delivered.

They sound decent enough and with the right promotion we could all be seeing much more of her, a new Natasha Bedingfield in a year or so possibly. Certainly all the right people are conjured to mind listening to her from Morissette to Crow to Silvas they’re all comparable.

This is the first time they’ve played to such a large audience, yet Kate is confident and all the band are enjoying it. Their sound is very well structured musically the lyrics are well written and with good hooks.

We are clearly watching someone on the verge of fame and when the tempo slows down her range is better. Much Like Anything is her soon to be released single and she says she thinks she’s falling in love with Terry Wogan because he’s playing it a lot. To be honest I can see why it’s perfect for Radio 2 audiences.

A member of the audience yells, “She Rocks!” and she does indeed, the name may be tough to spell but we’re sure to be hearing it more often.
