Steve Vai will be jamming on a couple of standard rock covers on Saturday and Sunday afternoon with Phil Hilborne and Nicko McBrain, but will not be performing a solo show, or any Vai material. Nicko will also be playing on Sunday in a special performance with leading multi-percussionist Pete Lockett (Bjork, Jeff Beck/ Robert Plant/Jarvis Cocker/Peter Gabriel etc). Guthrie Govan and John Wheatcroft will be on the Guitar Techniques stand. Sandi Thom will be at the Farida stand on Thursday 11th June, and Rotosound will have Buzzcocks and Cradle of Filth artists on their stand. The International Guitar Foundation (IGF) presents the Session Guitarist with Hawi Gondwe, and the 10 greatest Riffs Seminar with John Wheatcroft. Special guests on the Sandarac stand include guitar legend John Etheridge, violin virtuoso Christian Garrick, and members of the Courtney Pine Sextet, Darren Taylor (bass), Cameron Pierre (guitar), and Omar Puente (violin).
The live music is held in a 3000 capacity arena, and the line-up is expected to feature world class artists, with names to be announced over the next few months. This is an opportunity to not only see the performers up close and personal, but also a chance to meet them with signing, and question and answer sessions.
The Drummer Live line-up features Nick DVirgilio (Spock's Beard/ Tears for Fears), Derrick McKenzie and Sola Akingbola (Jamiroquai ), Cora Coleman (plus her bass player husband Josh Dunham and fellow Prince band member) will play her first UK drum clinic at Drummer Live. Brand names at the show include Marshall amps, Shure microphones, Tama drums, Ibanez Guitars and Roland keyboards. In total, the organisers expect more than 200 top manufacturers to exhibit representing more than 300 brand names.
