Long Division is a three day multi venue music and culture festival held in the city centre of Wakefield, West Yorkshire. It started as a one day festival in 2011, with four bars, the cathedral and the Town Hall involved, all for £12.

Over the last few years it has grown to a three day event for around £50, or £22.50 for the one day, with the Sunday hosting many free events. It now takes place in over ten venues, plus the newly opened Unity Works Hall. It normally takes place in early June, but 2014 was held in September to coincide with the opening of Unity Hall.

Wakefield is a small city, so the trek between venues when you have collected your wristband is no hardship at all. The bands range from local acts to more established acts. Merchandise is cheap too, with a T-shirt costing only £5, and the programmes are free and available from the venues before the event so you can plan your days early.
