Lost Vagueness Arena

Their only London gig this summer, Vagueness unhitches its trailer and unleashes amazing performances in our festival friendly Ballroom Den.

At Lovebox we bring you a selection of the finest Festival tunes and the Freakiest Festival Performers, we have music you will never see anywhere else including, a full Can-Can troupe, Burlesque Fan Dancers and The Laundrettas’ pamper area where you can get Glam`d Up and get a fine bouffant. Highlights include, the mighty 32 piece Acid Brass Band-The Faireys Band; “the best festival band ever” Ska Cubano; the hilarious Cuban Bros; The Beat and more. The Queens of the Erotic Burlesque and international cabaret artists Lucifire, Empress Stah and Esme will make the party swing and a host of aerial and land based performers will bring their skills to “vibe up the area”. Lovebox visitors are asked to come in any attire that suits a ballroom in Tower Hamlets.

Saturday 1- 2pm DJ Nelson Dilation – King Nelson of Vagabond Boogaloo mixing up Gypsy Ska and Bluebeat with modern beats.
2:00pm –2.50pm Backini – Backini are a live band mixing up funky down tempo breaks with 1930’s and Ragtime samples to a sleezy sleeky end.

3.10 – 4.0pm The Hat Orchestra – Live 6 piece covering a whacky live Jazz version of Cabaret Music and jive.
4.20 – 5.00pm Sweetbeat - The sharpest 1960`s Style Ska Spectacular.
The Swinging Elvises – Swinging in the Style of Los Vegas Elvis x 3 swinging through the air.
5.20 – 6.10 Empty heads – Completely amazing new band from the land of the FreeStylers. A live act with one notion. Hip-Hop- Breakbeat-Ska, they will tear the place down. Featuring MC Surreal – Freestylers and a host of MC’s and hot brass.
Empress Stah – Venus arises from Her shell and gives us all a surprise
6.50 – 7:40pm Zen Hussies – 11 Piece Brass special with Ska and funky Rock N Rolls vibe and added Hip Hop.
8.10 –9.00pm Los Albertos – Suited and booted Ska, Rock and Roll and Rock steady

9.30 –10:30pm The Fairey’s Band – 005 Carnegie International artist JEREMY DELLER (winner of the 2004 UK Turner Prize) ACID BRASS project—Artist Brass Band Combination. The Faireys are a very well respected Brass Band who have won competitions all over the world. Deller brought his Acid House vibe into this most ancient and respectable musical form. The result is a solid wall of brass that will rock and rave in a very unique way.

Plus All day walkabout from the LIBIDEX the amazing PVC Leigh Bowery style people on stilts, and The Laundrettas - All day pampering in the pamper Zone from our 50`s Kids.

Sunday SKA BHANGRA CUBAN CAN CAN DAY 1.30 – 2.30pm DJ Nino – Lady Luck – The most amazing and glorious Nino is the king of swingtime and very cool cabaret music. Lady Luck is the No. 1 Club mixing up Rock‘n’Roll all the way to 21st Century Rubber places.
2:00pm –2.50 pm Bee 2 – All the way from Bombay, Bee2 play a rocking jumping Bhangra style sound. The lead man Bee is known as the “Hendrix of the Tumbi” (the 1 stringed guitar so prominent in tunes from Punjabi MC and Missy Elliot) a superstar in Asia and with the UK Asian Crew it’s a great honour to have him at the Lovebox.
3.00 – 3.10pm The Twilight Players – aside to appearing with Madonna on many tours, they are the only Asian male dance group that manages to mix Boogaloo Dancing with Ska and then Breakdance, one of the crazy sights of the day.
3.10 – 4:10 pm Babyhead – 10 piece live super band. Performing a killa-dilla version of live Hip Hop mixed up with brass, Ska, Cabaret and major vibe. Bristol’s best.
4.20 –4.25pm Can Booty Can – Can-can Special with the lovely Bootys shaking it every way possible.
4.25:– 5:35pm The Beat- Our surprise discovery, The Beat are absolutely amazing, 80`s super heroes and a band that actually said something.
Esme The extremely beautiful Esme is the classiest girl in town, act contains some nudity.
5.45 –7.00pm Ska Cubano – There is little doubt that this will be the best band that anyone at the whole event will see today. This band is a combination of the mighty Top Cats Ska band, traditional 1960`s Skatalite sound and the beautiful 1950`s sounds of Santiago De Cuba. They are currently selling out worldwide and are simply the “best festival band ever”.

Lucifire – Queen of the Burlesque Sexy Chanteuse has a special act for all who dare to watch.
7.30 – 8.30 The Cuban Brothers and Can Booty Can to kick it off.
The Cuban Brothers are unique. Born of the loins of seventies Havana, nurtured on a diet of soulful, sexy tunes and inspired by beatmasters from all over the world – they whip up a frenzy on every stage they play.
They’re the only act that truly combines music, comedy and dancing so the energy at every gig is incredible and the performance they give is riotous fun and rocks it every time.
Lucifire and Esme – The most amazing girlz in Town
9:00 – 10:00pm The BAYS They don't rehearse. They don't have records. And they don't ever play the same thing; this is improvisation taken to its most extreme. The Bays are unlike any band for years, but their music rocks and they are fast creating a massive worldwide hype, a big Welcome to them in Vagueness.
