Collectors Club
On Saturday we arrived to endure heavy rain and showers for most of the afternoon. We got there midway through the Collectors Club's set and the small crowd who weren't put off by the weather were treated with a really tight set from the local indie band. They had everything from a charismatic front man to some good tunes and we were left wishing we had arrived a little earlier to see the full set. Next up was The Broken Broadcast on the second stage. The local folk band were quite good but at times were drowned out by people around talking.

The Chapman Family
Following straight on the main stage was local band The Chapman Family, back again after their well-received slot at last year's festival. Once again Kingsley Chapman had great stage presence and the bands noisy angst rock helped people forget about the heavy downpour that went on right through their set. We took a music break after this to get some food and let the kids empty my wallet on the rides. We got back in time to see another returning local band Young Rebel Set, who sounded Springsteen-like at times.

The Go Team
The weather began to get better in the evening and the still small crowd had chance to put away their ponchos and umbrellas. Next, into the long awaited sunshine came The Go! Team - the popular Hip Hop band had a lot of energy and went down well with sections of the crowd. After a couple of drinks at the bar we then went down near the front to catch American indie band We Are Scientists. By now the crowd was starting to fill out a bit and they seemed to enjoy both the catchy songs and banter between songs from the Californian three piece.

The Saturday headliner couldn't have been any different to anything that had gone before. Celtic rock band The Pogueshad been given the honour of finishing the night and they had the now decent sized crowd bouncing along to their hits. Nobody seemed to care that Shane MacGowan could barely speak, or stand for that matter as the band carried him along throughout the set.
