Universal Principles played a double set in the Slam Tent due the the non-appearence of James Lavelle. Again, big boucy beats was the order of the day, with the tempo little more than a chill room.

On Stage Two Manchild put in a storming display, their metal-tainted techno being a big hit with the thinish crowd (it was still early).

Todays novelty act was Lulu... having had our ears assulted by All Saints yesterday we decided to skip it... besides, it was pissing down. So down at the Slam Tent, hidden behind the high deck desk, Death In Vegas proved a popular choice, with a large enthusiastic crowd lapping up the deep beats with guitars.

Death in Vegas

Idlewild in front of a home crowd were psyc'd up for it, and their brand of indy rock-pop was delivered with verve and passion. A surfers paradise, the crowd in the mosh-pit were literally steaming!

Iggy Pop was... well, Iggy Pop. Straight on stage with no shirt, his six-pack growing to a crate from his wrinkles (well, he is old!), he greeted us with "MOTHERFUCKERS... FUCK YOU"... then just to prove he knew where he was "yes, I do know i'm in Scotland".

Iggy Pop

Groove Armada had filled the Stage 2 big-top for their first outing in Scotland. Late to start when troubled by technical problems, they played away despite them, and the poor(ish) sound quaility didn't dampen the show, it just spurred them on to rise above it; their efforts were greeted by the best crowd reaction we saw.

Groove Armada

Muse missed their flight, and consequently rose to last billing for Stage 2, with David Holmes swapping his spot with them.

Back to the Slam Tent (dry, warm and spacious) for some Carl Cox, who continues to show just why he's so rated.

We'd been warned about Macy Gray... she loves to talk, and loves to get the crowd singing back... we prefered her to sing, and her soulful voice blew the crowd away.

Macy Gray

Travis took the stage, and it seemed as though they could do no wrong. "This is like playing in front of your family" quipped Fran. They then ran through their repertoire, with the packed crowd singing along to every word.

Travis

Today was party day - nothing was going to spoil the fun, and the friendly crowds soaked up some great acts. Downwards, the ground stopped soaking up the rain - tho not hard, it was pretty persistant - and the tromp out of the site was wetter than we'd have liked... why does it always rain on me?
