Wychwood Music Festival 2007

Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd June 2007
Cheltenham Racecourse, Prestbury Park, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England MAP
£95 w/e adults with camping, (£75 w/e 12-18 yr olds, students, OAPs, unwaged)

A quick peak at the man on the door’s clicker shows there’s a thousand people in here to see the Monkeys, and it’s sweltering in the tent! Both their fans and the audience are a little surprised at the time slot, noon! The band were out partying with The Levellers the night before and are worried the set will loose some of that monkey magic. It doesn’t, despite Athene’s voice sounding strained at times, if anything acts like this who give it their all when rough around the edges make for a terrific experience. And wasn’t it just the whole place came alive to crowd favourites ‘Astral Eyes’ and ‘Hubbadillia’ and all the songs carried the driving rhythms and energy that 3DM have made their hallmark. Terrific, a highlight of the weekend.
