ah the joys of work.

Its days like today that I wish there was a button that said Neil, ban me for 24 hours. I was off on Friday and have come back to a mountain of work, stupid f**king managers not approving anything because clearly they have better f**king things interrupting their day, whereas I have 4 f**king days to leave my work in a reasonable state prior to starting a new f**king job. So all this has made me stressed and perplexed and rage filled and I do not want to go on a board and write something ill tho

...and on a more positive note!

Sorry about the last blog, was feeling a bit down! anyway in the words of Culture Shock (i think) Onwards and Upwards! A couple of days ago Z brought home her saxophone and already the sound has gone from sounding like a foghorn to sounding a bit like 'in The Mood' This is fantastic and I'll tell you for why! She'll want to go and see Nick Turner now (and less excitingly The Zutons) which is great news - can't wait til she learns silver machine - it'll be a proud dad moment that day! Z also a

Damn this wait!

The waiting's doing my head in now - still months before they re-evaluate my nervous system and then give me any drugs to combat the thing. My feeling is intermittent in my legs - it's mainly numbness or slight pins and needles but today my ankles and the tops of my metatarsals are giving me jyp! My hands have good or bad days - yesterday i had feeling in them for the first times in months - mostly they feel as though i've been pummelling sand and they're numb and not completely mine. Had

Top of the Pops! Art Brut, Manchester last night

When Eddie Argos took to the stage last night he cut the figure of a someone who had imbibed the band's rider all by himself. He look wrecked, you could see it in his walk and in his eyes. Yet as soon as he picked up the mike he was transformed and all hell broke loose. This was a hell of a gig, easily one of the best i've seen this year and was confirmation that live, Art Brut take some beating (whereas on record, it's not quite the same). Bar three songs this was the same set i'd seen

going to the gym today was suprisingly good fun... however the midget french man who showed me how to use everything was more than a little strange and i could understand little of what he said due to his very strong accent... working tonight or rather now ... really over doing night shifts... they are long, boring and bugger up my sleep pattern for days afterwards if anyone needs to hire an assistant whom they will pay vast quantities of cash for little work in return please e

Well in touch with my female side!

It IS supposed to be women that are obsessed by shoes, but I've just got another pair of Converse...we're into double figures now on colours i've got. These are the latest ones, bought off ebay - but these are still my favourites, although they are falling apart now (and they seem to have stopped making them This obsession is a big help for those that know me, as xmas/birthdays are a cinch!

dj Sasha!

Yes hes a boy -quite an agressive one at that - Im the one he comes to for a cuddle and Im the one he attacks for no reason - he likes to draw blood while im on the phone by biting inbetween my thumb and finger - i am trying to disway this behaviour with not much sucess as yet - i may have made it worse by not stopping him sooner as he did it with me right from the start but their teeth and claws get sharper and sharper that i dont find it fun anymore. Hes quite good with Trudi at the moment

Guideponies! WTF!

A continuing saga of bizarre animal facts! So currently the feature I'm doing is on miniature horses and these creatures: Now i'm not sure whether to put this in jokes. Is it real? Or has someone made this whole site about them as a joke? guidehorses click The picture of a horse in trainers looks fake! and the pictures on here: click had me in stitches faves include: and Their feature on ponies in the movies click had me convinced it was joke! Self Appointed Music Honchos .....

Self Appointed Music Honcho defines criteria Reuters, London, November 2006 : In what appears to be one of the greatest dicktat to come out of the modern musical press since Lennon's claim that the Beatles were bigger than God, an e-festival's boarder and a self-appointed head music honcho has amazed the music world by putting down criteria as to why his musical opinion is more valid than others. In an amazing outburst, the user - who shall be referred to here as "Auntie Ian" in order to pr

another exciting weekend.

I ventured out on Friday, to a local pub with a mate and his wife, and what started out as a quiet drink turned into sambuca and no memory of getting home. Saturday was recovering and although it was slow and long, it was a recovery. We have a man coming today to sand and varnish the floor, yesterday we had to get the sofa out of the living room and it took 2 hours, a spanner and the removal of the arms, excessive cursing and damning DFS to the heavens. Eventually we got it out and sold it to a

I am touched by your presence ears.

For the past few weeks I have been afforded the relative luxury of an office, well for the next two weeks at least, until I move to the new job. Hence my upped presence on efestivals, its been nice not worrying who is looking over your shoulder and having to quickly alt-tab to a spreadsheet (always keep a spreadsheet handy).

Pixies doc.

Started watching the pixies documentary today, loudquietloud, caught the first half on the bus on my psp. I am aware that the editing isnt too flattering of the band and Davids drinking as a result of his fathers death is highlighted, however it has been pretty insightful so far, footage of their first rehearsals since they got back together and behind the scenes stuff, and from my perspective kim singing a song that will surely go on the next breeders album. We listened to title tk last night,

Weird illness

Z is ill temperature running at 100+ and her tonsils infested - she came down with it on Sunday after the fireworks. So K took her to the docs today - and so an amazing coincidence was discovered. Every year on the 9th of November Z goes to the docs with tonsillitis! What? Yup at the same time every year she gets it! How is this possible? We've jokingly said next year we'll have to tell the school - she will be ill on the 9th and get homework prepared for it! Even so a very weird thing ind

today whilst off sick errm hermmm i went shopping.... the intention was to buy a cocktail dress for this bloody party... but curses i could not wedge me boobs into a single one (I do not understand people who want breast implants... it's hell when your boobs are big but the rest of your body is a normal size)... the depression brought on by the realisation that i am unlikley to find a dress unless i part with serious money for a tailor to take it in meant that i had to deflect my need to shop on
