WOMAD news!

Yay! Looks like we will be going to WOMAD after saying never again - it's moving out of Reading 'Scumville' and hopefully the criminals will stay away. Better news is it's moving even closer to us! Result!

is it just me?

annoying mates! This has been bugging me for 3 days now and i wanna know if i'm over reacting. My mate appears to have a total memory bypass - he says on Saturday he has a film i can borrow - so i email him about it yesterday - and he's no idea what I'm on about and doesn't have the film he mentioned! WTF! This happens repeatedly with him, he's a DVD buff who buys loads of films and yet has only ever lent me about five. The classic was he'd said he'd lend me 'V for Vendetta' i waited a couple

Red Square

It's Monday and the tide is indeed high but I'm holding on. it was friend's birthday last weekend and they'd organised for their friends to all get together and have a meal in a local Russian restuarant. Nice food but very expensive. £18 for reindeer steaks! Anyway the beer was unpronouncable and strong, the wine from France and the menu incomprehensible. The waitresses spoke little English and all looked like girls you might have seen in dodgy porn, or so i was told. There was a whole seper

holidays

Well, for the first time in six and half years of running eFestivals, I decided to take some time off last week. I'd forgotten what doing nothing was like! And now I'm back, refreshed and raring to go ... watch out world.

Haircut

I've had a haircut. Well, a change of hairstyle. This is quite a step forward for me, I've not had a haircut since the day before I got married, some two and a half years ago - and even then, that was a trim that my wife did by the side of swimming pool. I've updated my personal photograph to reflect this somewhat dramatic change. It hurts my head

I feel good...

Well I feel truly alive. I've just driven to my mate's house to drop off his wallet (he'd left it in the pub last night) when my car swerved on a wet patch in the road. If I had been a second or two later, I would have hit a car coming the other way. Instead, I just righted myself and carried on going. Life feels flipping great!

Bank charges when will this nightmare end?

I used to work for a bank. I'm so glad I got out of that job but mr.banky seems to have had it's revenge by slapping loads of bloody charges on our joint account. Our own fault I know but we've been trying so hard to put money in, only for it to be spent on sodding charges No, we put it in there for our BILLS!!! Not for charges. So I'm looking into seeing if I can kick enough fuss with head office to claim some back at least. It's a rocky road, and if you're determined enough you can try and

Fleeting.

I could do with a few more hours in the day today. I think Essex's patience will be starting to wear a bit thin with me, it looks like I have got an excuse not to come out, but little frogmellas birthday broke the bank this month. Next month I have a mates 40th, that’s a meal in Birmingham and a hotel to boot, another expensive night, plus gigs and I feel Paul will be sending me abusive texts. We tend to hibernate between September and Easter anyway, we get out for gigs but we have so many

Arrrghhhhh!

House is up for sale, we have new neighbours and they are bustards of the highest order. Loud, stupid and on a drug fuelled binge that's lasted 4 days so far. I wouldn't mind but their music's shiet and they shout bollocks and one of them just howls all night. but we can't complain or it's constituted us not getting on with the neighbours and could hamper a sale. K however is using her drug squad connecos (from her council work) soon and as they are a multi-occupancy house without a licence

Baby update

So everything was set up for the delivery on Monday 11th but baby had other ideas. Labour started in the early hours of Saturday 9th followed by a panic to arrange a baby sitter for the other two and a mad dash to the maternity unit. Our new little girl was delivered by c-section (as expected) at 09.42 and weighed 7lb 11oz (in old money). We have named her Seren May Boudicca. Mother and baby are both beautiful and after two weeks leave I have returned to work for a bit of a rest.

New Beginning

Our new neighbours moved in yesterday more bleedin' students - Exeter students have too much cash - a top of the range rangerover with new plates, a 2004 mini cooper a Capri and 3 VW Golfs all now reside littering the roads! Opposite new students also moved in. So we've had enough - last year we had no rubbish collection cos their cars blocked the road, a sleepless daughter from their late night swearing and partying, our garden used as their tip! So we're not going through it again and putt

A life in flux...

Finally found time to update the blog...! Well since my last missive, what's happened... We moved me out of the flat and away from the Toryboy's stronghols (Witney). Me Mel and Seb had an epic day with me being inaugurated in the Official Union of White Van Man. Having never driven a transit before we collected a van from Worthing, drove it to Witney and loaded my life into the back, drove back to Worthing and unloaded my life into Mel's house, then took it back to the hire place. Total m

Another one bites the dust

Have just officially ended my nearly three year engagement and he's moving out today.Still not sure if he's taking Lola (our cat not the transvestite) as he's staying at my sisters' and bother-in-laws' house for a bit until he gets a flat. sob, sob, sob. On a lighter note I'm off to Estonia next week and staying in a spa hotel for part of it, will have to drown my sorrow in vodka albeit Estonian gutrot stuff NB I refuse to type anything else about the Ws or their propensity for attracting f

Happy New Year! Mabon again!

It's the happiest time of year again and no I'm not Jewish, but it's Rosh Hashanah for them too. I'm feeling very perky although a little peeky. Had a pleasent night out in hurricane George last night enjoying the warm strong gales and a pint or three. Then tried to stay up all night but failed but awoke before dawn. Heard the dawn chorus, saw the sun rise and felt the vibrancy of the morning, no sign of the darkness that's to come yet. Considered wearing green but had nothing clean - but will b

the cult of celebrity

The last few weeks have shown that we as a society have sunk incrediably low into the cult of celebrity. People are trying to censor others reasonable opinions on the actions of these celebrities, as tho the only thing allowed is star worship. And thinking back 50 years, we used to take the piss out of the cult of leadership in dictatorships: at least those leaders had a real effect on people's lives of more than fluff.
