Beautiful Days

Well, that was interesing Really glad I decided to go, albeit very last minute. Walking on to the site on Friday afternoon confirmed it was definitely the right decision. FF & Vicki were stars all weekend, saving me a camping space and everything and letting me harrass play with the most well-behaved one year old in the world (not to mention the cutest ) and looking after me when I was aimlessly wandering around. Was lovely to see loads of efesters on Friday at the meet (cider on an emp

Hello mr PAF Pro

well i went and got my new Humbucker from the sorting office this morning (humbucker = electric guitar pickup) and installed it when I got home, after some frustrating soldering and a spring to the eye I had finished. Restrung it and tested each string as I went. Dear god, my guitar has never sounded so good, the DiMarzio PAF Pro is a really warm sparkly sounding pickup which sounds amazing with gain, really suits the guitar better than the Parker custom DiMarzio humbucker.

Beaut Days Overview!

Overview Bloomin’ Heck! What a Ball! I couldn’t wait for the fourth Beautiful Days hoping it would at least live up to the previous three, which from its superlative start has been bettered each year. I really should put more faith in the organisers, Exeter-based promoter Dave Farrow and friends who really have nurtured the growth of Beautiful Days carefully and are clearly realising their vision to put Devon at the top of the festival tree. This year’s festival was better and grander t

very Beautiful Days

god, I needed that sleep. What can I say? I don't think I've enjoyed a festival that much in ages. But next time, they need to book Steel Pulse for a 3 hour set.

I woke you up, what times the bus come?

It's Tuesday, on the way in this morning I listened to Im wide awake its morning. For the first time in a round a year. I love Bright eyes and listening to that album I was reminded why. I wish he was playing Leeds this year, he would be a perfect Carling stage headliner and a nice antidote to the madness I am sure will be taking place. I have a few things to get today, from the pound shop, "no, really, we have heard it all before and yes, it is only a pound" and home bargains, which is essenti

Wet weekend in Stafford

Well what a damp weekend we all had at Stafford this weekend, it started off badly enough with the 2 mile hike from the car to the campsite and got steadily worse when we had to pitch our tent in torrential rain. All my clothes got damp to some degree and my tent was full of water by the time it was up. But hey! i've had 4 years of great weather at V so it had to happen sooner or later. That was the only downside apart from the usual things(see forums for whinging festy goers)which can upset the

Where are you mr Teardrop?

So I realised something, I haven't cried since December, when my Granddad died, and I feel inside sometimes like theres loads of tears just dying to be released, but nothing lets them out. Now it's not like I want a reason for a good cry, I just want a good cry, I know it'll help me sleep; I am Jack's supressed emotion, hiding in the background for none to see. I also realised that I'm afraid to say what I really mean, for fear of repercussion, you know, like on a job application and they te

off to leeds festival

It's official! I'm going to leeds festival. Spoke to programme selling woman today and confirmed that we are actually going, so it's all good. I'm a bit annoyed that we can't arrive until Thursday (as we normally get there on wednesday), but on the plus side we should be camping in the proper workers campsite as opposed to the traders campsite. All's good.

Hello mr Window Cleaner

Woken up by a man at my window this morning, thankfully I have curtains. I wouldn't mind if my landlord would give me notice of when he's sending blokies round for stuff rather than just having them come here unannounced. I missed yet another delivery today, this is happening all the time now, I think it's a guitar pickup most likely (DiMarzio PAF PRO) but it may be some other thing that I forgot I ordered. My backs a bit sore and its Leeds on Wednesday!!!!!

Wow.

I don’t really do the nerd thing, I pretty much hate sci fi and fantasy, I am sure harry potter is neither. I don’t play games, I have a psp but its not for games, I watch video on it. So when a mate of mine suggested I give world of warcraft a go, I sniggered a little, after all I have a wife. The whole premise was a bit of a turn off, genius mind. Imagine, you buy the game, 30 quid please, so you have bought the game, now you pay to play it, to use the servers, you have to pay again, on a mont

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!

Blimey how good was that finale last night? Wow! Levellers rule! Brilliant weekend - musically a bit average at times, but lots of folks to meet - the most friendly festival of the summer. The most fantastic fun 10-12,000 people can have in a field! Cycle Taxis were such a brill idea! That walk would have been a killer else! So many people met, so much fun had! No more vodka!!!! And i pegged Jeremy, but i think it fell out of his dreads!

The Parable of a Mossy Appendage

Today’s blog entry is inspired by some of the comments in here. The parable of the stupid traveller And so it came to pass that the great and bountiful kingdom of the e-festivals forum saw many great debates and discussions as to the state of the world and it was good, for the discussions enriched and educated the minds of many; for the underlying beliefs of those in the kingdom were of peace and love, of understanding and acceptance. And into this kingdom came a great number of trave

Chris Moyles.

I was bored on the bus this morning and came up with a geurilla activity. Hows about people calling up Chris Moyles for his phone ins and just saying the word c**t. Imagine the fines he will get, it would be great if a few people did it. I may have to give him a listen on Wednesday morning and give it a stab.

V on 4.

E4 are showing the V festival, I have been to 4 V's, including the first one in Warrington. Its easy to take the piss out of it because its a clean polite facsimile of a festival and its like a bridging festival between say T4's party on the beach and reading festival, and now that I am watching it it does remind me more of those roadshows that channel 4 put on hosted by june f**king sarpong. I digress at the moment they have just had the feeling on and now its the delays. The delays supported

Red hot poker.

I played poker last night with mates and the kid, I drank way too much and I am f**ked, genuinely f**king pissed still, we was drinking till 2 and I am seriously too old for this bollocks. Still leeds soon innit and this is a taster. As as sidenote I am here watching the ace video for the fratellis song, chelsea daggers and come to the conclusion that I am in love with at least 5 women in that video. Maybe 10.

Hello mr Thief Part II

OK so I have no proof but everything points to it. about 1am last night theres some loud banging on our front door, I assume they'll go away after a while. But they knock again, so I go downstairs, and by the time I've reached the bottom, I hear the sound of footsteps running to the street outside, along with what sounds like a big bag being dragged behind them. Now I think this seems the logical explanation: thieves wanting to ensure nobody's home/ everyones deeply asleep or drunkenly pass
