Dare to believe.....?

Im moving into the house tomorrow....... Am I?? Dare I to believe this?! I've had more false starts in the last 2 months than Doug Ellis has fired Villa managers so I can't quite bring myself to accept that this time tomorrow I'll be unpacking... Last weekend seemed a dead cert for the move...so much so that I turned down the chance of meeting up with 5co77ie to watch Argyle, but at the last minute it was all called off.. But now we're all exchanged of contracts and its gonna occur!!!

Oh my god! Something that's NOT all doom and gloom. The bills situation is looking better, not yet outta the woods though so won't speak too soon! mr.carley finally starting to realise he needs to be a bit more responsible, and job still going ok. I feel quite chilled out, much better than I've done in recent months, xmas doesn't even faze me, everyone is aware we are doing it shoestring style this year, and they understand completely. Dad tells me to give his present to the church as afte

oh yeah, Friday night!

Friday saw the second of the Latitude at the Globe band nights that i'm involved with, and i certainly had another banging time, judging by the Budvar induced headache the next day. First up were It's a Buffalo, who are signed to Akoustic Anarkhy. The were pretty good, but after a little DJ set by myself came the Courteeners. They had hogged most of the soundcheck, and seemingly brought most of the crowd as there was suddenly a throng at the front. They are led by singer/songwriter Liam

Baby fratelli.

Fratellis last night then, well, not great to be honest, not appalling, far from it, just the sound was weedy and they struggled at times to recreate the sound that was on the album, they definitely would have benefited from an additional guitarist, and a little tightness to proceedings. Also the PA or sound man wasn’t really that good. They sort of shambled into songs, the guitarist started and the drummer joined in when the mood took him, they were ok and I still love them on record, but do no

august bank holiday!!!

I see Sshh has been confirmed for August bank holiday weekend, well according to their website it has. This is marvellous news, and a perfect weekend to have it, we were resolute that we were not going to do the carling weekender this year and sh being the best festival we ever attended that has definitely put it firmly as a yes. We also want to to endorse-it as well this year and maybe something early on, unsure what off the tracks is like but that seems the right price at the right time of the

Tilly and the Bawl

I wanted to explain my previous blog entry and the foul mood that unfortunately that came off the back of. I think part of it stems from the my thoughts on death and having someone very close to me die, and recently due to things here in real life that death although happened a few years ago, has been in the forefront of mine and my families life over the past few weeks, this coincided I suppose with the aftermath of some Australians death and peoples attitudes to that. I linked that to how I wa

And all free.

It was quite a good weekend all in all. On Friday, we went to a free punk gig featuring First Among Equals in a local pub, and the atmosphere was quite lively, though nobody was pogoing! Then we had another band on that we hadn't expected, so that was cool. And there was a little more jumping around, because there had been a little more imbibing by then. There was even a fight behind the scenes, though all we saw of it was the barmaid with the first aid kit. So a pretty good grassroots rock '

Lantern fun tonight!

A busy weekend approaches with the footie tomorrow - Plymouth playing host to Birmingham and then I've got to back in time for a birthday party happening that evening. sunday is the weekly shop, plus archery and then a fireworks display and outdoor hot picnic (currently just an idea) no idea what I do there - but we thought a hot picnic was a good idea a few days ago. I also have to give some thought for our forthcoming title 'Rock Chick!' our new girl teen title - being put together by yo

f**k me, it's cold brrrrrr

Um, I've just been blindly typing on another keyboard and wondering why nothings coming out but eventually I found the right keyboard, so at least I've achieved something (stops for quick fag break after all that exercise). My house is at the freezing point of nitrogen (63K in case you're interested) and my fingers have just broken off but I will continue to type with my stubs, why?, because you deserve to be this bored. Have just returned from Bonnie! Scotland, the enigma of the tartan mafia

I sleep all winter

Now is the time of year when most people seem to think I spend my time sunning myself on a beach. I wish. Although there's not much festie news at this time of year, now is when lots of little bits and pieces on the website get improvements made to them, the company accounts gets sorted out, deals are made for next year, new servers are installed or upgraded, etc, etc, etc - it all takes time, and normally more time than I think it will (hence me asking for a php programmer to help me out wi

Happy Samhain

To some yesterday, Halloween was Samhain but to me it was last night and now Samhain starts proper until the sull moon on November Fifth where burn a huuuuge bonfire! Last night we prowled the streets pretending we were fairie folk - knocked at doors requesting treats for tricks - performed our magic and we were rewarded with much bounty. (and maltesers too ) ended up with a carrier bag full, on meeting those less fortunate who inquired how we had such huge hauls of sugar and coca we replie

hiatus.

I have got quite worked up about south parks ridicule over steve irwins death, I guess I was able to put myself in the shoes of his family. The common theme on the thread that I posted was that he was that because its south park and they were playing for laughs it was justified. I am not offended by a cartoon poking fun at a death, just for a second though I thought blimey imagine you were terri watching that, or his little girl would think. It appears no one could imagine that and I was wrong f

I'm sure they are all very nice but...

I bottled out of another Efests meet at the weekend. In the end, the thought of walking into a pub full of people i didn't know who had been drinking for 6 hours already did not seem like a good thing to do, especially after we lost 8-0, and so i went back home and unexpectedly turned up at my mates Halloween party (where the family were) to find i was the only one not in fancy dress. I may have been better off going to the meet (although it did mean i was ok to study for an exam sunday mornin

Inner City Unit

WOW! - Nik Turner's reformed them, and they're playing a gig in Slough in mid-November .... I quite fancy going, but Slough's a bit of a trek ... I guess I'll have to decide soon, I'm sure it'll sell out pretty quick.
