I'm a spanner

Yes, that's right, I am - for last night I managed to park my (nice, shiny new) car in it's usual car parking space by our flat - except that someone was already parked there So I have a scuffed bumper that has lifted by about 1cm, and I need to buy a new offside set of headlamps having split the casing pretty much in half (for a 2004 Seat Ibiza, if anyone happens to have one set lying around spare). I left a note for the owner of the other car, as it was late and I didn't know whose it

Life in boxes!

Oh gawd its started then... Im in my flat and my life is contained in boxes....apart from the CD shelves which are boxes anyway.. The cooker is cleaned so Im living on ready meals for this week, and I have a list of things to do such as 'book van for friday', 'call all the people who send me bills to say that I won't be here after friday', 'cancel milk', 'go out for lots of farewell drinks with friends this week'. That last one will probably ensure that none of the earlier items get done and

Back to work :(

Okay, so I know people say teacher's get tonnes of holidays, and it's true, we do. But I wish they were just a little bit longer First official day back at work today (sprogs return tomorrow) and I'm still thinking what the hell am I doing there but at least my classroom now looks all pretty and i've got timetables and set lists and stuff - rock and roll! Anywho, I met David Ford last week and I swooned a lot and talked like a drunken twat, but he did sign my ticket thing saying happy birt

Unfit 3 months!

Ack ack ack! went to the gym lunch time for the first time in 3 months - couldn't face the weights so did a 6K cross train over some hills and backwards for a while for half an hour in total. Damn thing almost killed me! I'm now feeling very stiff and achy! Conclusive proof doing festivals for weeks on end does not make you fit! But at least I've been off the ciggies again for a few days now. Mind you my sweat was so stinky due to Black Reading Flu - i think it's best to burn my gym kit in

Time off.

Every couple of years or so I feel the need to get off line for a while, normally centres around me feeling that I have been spending too much time on my PC or work creeps up and I need to concentrate that aspect of my life. Now it seems that that is the case at the moment, well a combination of the two. It’s a little more difficult now though, with one thing and another.

My weekend.

Good night watching Hips Likw cinderella, Essex was out and he was large and in charge, turns out he was at Uni with the bassist Larry. They were being filmed for something and so if you see Hips like cinderella on telly in the near future, the loon dancing around, well that’s Essex. Him and little legs were in various states of drunkeness, I was on fosters so all I did was get bloated and piss a lot. Sunday we walked dem dogs up Cannock chase and that killed a bit of time, watched a few films,

Homesick

My daughter was just watching CBBC and they had a TV show on called Friends International a tv programme about a girl who had moved away from her friends in England to Vanuatu - where i used to live. In the programme they showed the Rossi restaurant and it's gardens where we used to play, the basketball courts behind our house, our house, Tanna beach - oh how i miss the beach! The volcano on Tanna, the Tanna holiday cottages, BPS primary school, the road from Vila to the golf course and load

And so it starts

In the last week, I've lost a girlfriend and refound all the things which make me happy. I never realised how much I had changed my life for someone else. But anyway, I'm back in my own world again and tonight I think I have settled down to something which is going to carry me through for the foreseeable future. I've come in from the pub (sober as alcohol was another thing I had to give up for her) and I've stuck on the Glastonbury film dvd. First off it was a few of the uncut tracks (Macca,

blah Bad Weather

Well after a night filling my veins with real ale at the pub last night and awaking to find it's a hoolie outside we decided not to go to the festival today and stay at home instead. Which has been fine as there's lots of football on and the house needed a tidy up - but i keep crashin' out i need fresh air and a field to stay awake home comforts seem much too comfy and I've only been awake about three hours all day.

Saturday is tiswas, never a day to miss cos.

I seem to be in a constant state of f**ked offness recently. I havent posted much in this forum or any other for that reason for this reason alone, I read posts and get f**ked off by them, I wouldnt be able to contribute as it would be purely negative. That said me and the dwarf went to see me you and dupree last night at Star City, we paid for the gold class seats so didnt have to tolerate 10 year olds being twats. Not a bad night and the first friday in a lifetime where I didnt drink. To

free money

yep, it's true, there's now this thing called free money, here's how it works. What you do is set up or have a business. Then when you have some work to do, don't be a fool ... don't go doing it yourself! Do what Rupert Murdoch has his staff doing at the publisher Harper Collins (which he owns). They come up with a book idea, an idea they know zilch about. Rather than waste their own time doing their job and researching it all, they try to find a few suckers - today I've been their target.

Up for the Cup

It's the FA Cup tomorrow, as the mighty Glossop North End welcome Seaham Red Star to Derbyshire. We know absolutely nothing about the team, although having scored 14 goals in 5 games this season they clearly can create. 12 conceded suggests a less than solid defence though! £1000 is up for grabs to the winner, plus a place in the 1st round qualifying. The FA cup is STILL the greatest competition in the world in my book, and I'd love to finally have a decent run in it. COME ON!!!!

Busy Times!

Wow busy few weeks and at last I have a chance to update the blog! Well in between frantic times at work trying to finish off as many jobs as possible, and trying to hustle along a house purchase for the big move south west, I managed to fit in 2 fabulous festies! My 4th Beautiful Days and it just seems to get better and better! We arrived on site in the afternoon on Friday in dazzling sunshine, having survived what appeared to be a visitation of the Indian Monsoon over Salisbury, prompting u

my tattoo's on a cd!

One of my fav bands when I was younger, My Life Story, have got a new album out: And that's my tattoo (it isn't me in the pic). And my username is from a My Life Story song. I'm starting to look like a right obsessive freak aren't I? I'm not really, I'm quite normal. It just struck me as a weird coincidence. They're playing in london on the 8th December - I quite fancy going for old time's sake.

Bereavement

A lot has happened since the last blog not all of it of interest to yourselves, but the christening in Nottingham went without a hitch (although EVERYONE said i should have gone to prague), as did my cousins wedding in Llanelli and the subsequent camping, although we did get wet. Got a real shock yesterday though when i was informed that a 17 year old lad from the local radio station who I've met a few times and got to train with the club for a feature pre-season had died in a car accident.

Black smoke!

Grrr - as usual returning from Reading has led to slowly feeling more and more like crap every day until yesterday a stream of black gunk issues forth from my nose and i get the Reading flu. Now, i feel awful, my deadline at work has slid, my reviews of Reading sunday night still haven't been written - thankfully i took a huge wedge of notes and I've been in work half an hour and feel a mess. We've got Folkfest at the weekend - and metcgheck has it as one of their events - which i think i

Thursday stuff.

I have been a little subdued post Leeds, plenty of work to come back to and joy of joys on Tuesday our whole local server was down where I store most of my files, I sat twiddling my thumbs all of Tuesday and was hammered with work on Wednesday. I am back on top of it now. I see from the blog of bus that he is a serial early samich eater. I always always eat my sandwiches at ten, this stems from the days when I was an insomniac and may have been up at 3am, so come ten I was a hankering for sa

prizewinning pie

We had a competition at work in aid of the healthy eating week we're having. You could submit a healthy recipie (a word I can never spell) and the head chef would make it and there would be a taste-off to decide the winner. I submitted my mexican pie recipie, the judging was today and I won! I'm really happy! I was up against a fruit loaf, a rhubarb and carrot soup (which was really nice) and some chicken thing. My recipie will also be incorporated into the menu at work, and it's going to b
