Looking forward to the inevitable 'too crowded/last Glastonbury for me' posts on this thread..😆 Anyone moaning should have been at Glastonbury 99 or especially 2000, those were busy....4 points

Let me answer my own question! Festival Gas 07930758893 can replace a 6kg Propane to a What3words location in East 17 for £35. Excellent service!4 points

It was too crowded last year though. I think lots of people can admit that, and the changes to the site means that the organisers know it too. Just because it was even shitter 20 odd years ago doesn't change that.3 points

Lovely to have the annual catch up with you lot. Thanks to those of you who had nice things to say about the community that efestivals has become, and who are smart enough to know that it didn't become that by chance or accident . same as Twitter is a very different community.3 points

Back at camp for the day, was inside since about 11. Baggy Mondays at Stonebridge absolutely rammed, not sure why you literally can’t just play the tunes through speakers at The Park & let people breathe/dance. Tom A. Smith at Strummerville was great, lad is fantastic, they had folks stand up rather than sit to create more room, good move. In general getting from one place to another is a giant pain in the ass, definitely picking our 3/4 acts per day and hanging at bars during downtime over the weekend, or camped in front of stage waiting for our act with cold drink in hand. Exploring/seeing where day takes you….way too rammed to do that in my opinion. I’m also 47 not 27 so get it that folks have different thresholds.2 points

To paraphrase the classic George Bernard Shaw quote: You don’t stop partying because you get old, you get old when you stop partying.2 points

Gates are open. I am sat at my desk unable to focus on work, keep looking at the BBC live webcam seeing revellers carrying their stuff to the campsites knowing I won't be there this year. I actually feel kinda physically sick. To everyone lucky enough to be there, have an incredible time! To anyone else in my shoes - good luck, we'll get through this.1 point

It’s just too busy. Far too busy. Dangerously busy. At a guess, maybe 80-90% capacity? The issue is that with a huge crowd & lack of big names, then the medium sized acts on the Thursday become hugely overcrowded (Mel C, Sasha last year. Example, Eats everything this year). Those acts that wouldn’t command 20% of their Thursday crowds over the weekend become over subscribed. Not sure the solution, but Thursday needs to be re-thought.1 point

My two lovely nieces are there for the first time, so they're sending photos and little videos to keep me amused, God bless them.1 point

That was predictable. I didn't even try, they just moved the problem from Williams Green to another small venue. The solution is more popular acts on Thursday evening, cutting one just causes everyone to go to the next best one.1 point

There seems to be a dedicated team of crowd management stewards out this year monitoring things.1 point

100% of my bar credit refunded today. I guess non Spanish bank accounts will wait a bit longer but will be soon.1 point

It's pretty much on par with previous years. DH is a bit hit and miss (for me anyway as I'm not into rap and hip hop) but Bicep are a great booking. Nice to have Moderat, M83 and 2manydjs in the Marquee but nothing of note on the Main this time. Boiler is a bit more 'themed' each day this time - Techno on Fri and Sunday and Drum and Bass on Saturday - rather than everything mixed up but there's no one I'm mad about seeing. Got quite a few I'm looking forward to in the Booth though - DJ Heartstring, Blawan, Aquarian, Skin on Skin, Sherelle, Young Singh and Anz. The Lift is probably the most interesting stage as can't wait to see Piri, Ascendant Vierge, Nia Archives and Two Shell.1 point

Aye, a complete shitshow all round. No automatic refunds, but depending on your bank, most are able to get their money back (you obviously need to contact them and raise a charge back / dispute). Looking like we'll get ours back so at least all is not lost. Aside from dodgy buisness practice, it does raise the question as to why no one is able to to keep a family friendly mid-sized festival in Scotland. In the last few years, we've lost Electric Fields, Loopalu, and a bit further back Wickerman (not to mention RockNess). There would seem to be a demand (I think), but for whatever reason.... A real shame, as it was a cool wee festi. And if not for the utter C@ck W@mbles that ran it, could have become a serious contender...meh!1 point

I heard these too and that Eminem was coming on with Kendrick on the Sunday 🤣1 point

I'm definitely less bothered about it today, I guess yesterday it was the initial jealousy of everyone's excitement of getting there and getting set up. Also, like a few here have said, I didn't enjoy myself as much last year so I'm reminding myself of that. Although that probably had something to do with instead of going with my group of 20+ mates, I went with just my missus. It was her first time and she hated the camping, longdrops, carrying her gear from the coach, and amount of walking involved so was moaning a lot of time. Lessons learned!1 point

You're unlikely to find anything now, and I certainly wouldn't risk buying it from strangers online however desperate you are. Get some beers and snacks in and enjoy it from home.1 point

Boiler is non stop from when it opens to when it closes. Here is a clashfinder which will be fairly accurate. https://clashfinder.com/m/pkp23/?user=Djp19761 point

No we've never had a problem. If anyone is checking wristbands (rare) then you can just say you're on a village transfer. The folks on the gates are generally well briefed (though there's been the odd issue on our side where there's less villagers).1 point

Fascinating how much of a nerve it has hit really, I was half expecting a Dorset IP address. It is effectively transfer / draft season, there isn't much else for us to do.1 point

Nine days off, still no sniff of stage times for Pulp (just "doors at 4pm), or any confirmation from Festival Republic of any support beyond Wet Leg (I think Baxter Dury's been confirmed elsewhere?). Pretty crap from Festival Republic in 2023, tbqh.1 point

The PJ Harvey discussion was stupid and there was really no need to bring her back. She's absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, early headline material and I can't really see even the slightest argument otherwise. Not to mention, previous arguments "against" her (by emmanuel) were one of the most misleading, in-bad-faith and just flat out factually wrong arguments i've ever seen here. it's all just immensely disrespectful for her really. Yeah, she won't headline Werchter or those kind of festivals (even at her peak, she never had the hits), but for Primavera it's an absolute shoe-in. I can somehow see her doing Auditori if it was her choice - like she's choosing smaller venues in her own tour - in which case she'll likely to be the biggest auditori show ever in the festival. If not, it's Mordor for sure.1 point

As Johnny has said, no clash between the main and the Marquee and a 2-5 minute walk between the two depending on where you are standing for the main. Really glad they've put King Giz in the Marquee rather than the club as I thought they might. Can't fault Sunday tbh.1 point

They are definitely getting their monies worth aren't they? I have the same amount of sympathy for them as I do for people that go hill climbing in a blizzard in shorts and flip flops.1 point

I think he's just here to wind people up and get a reaction, yes, there are bigger issues going on in the world right now, but for a lot of people, missing out on the one place that takes them away from the outside worlds for 5 days is the highlight of their year, forgetting about any worries from outside the fence can be massive for peoples mental health and we shouldn't try to belittle anyone who is feeling down about not being there I'm a bit upset/annoyed that I'm not there this year, but I've been lucky enough to have been 7 times and I've missed out before, its not easy to miss out but I find reading this forum and seeing photos of people happily on the farm help me get through it, I know I'll be back there again one year and that will mean someone else has to miss out1 point

Last year an email was sent out close to the festival saying there was a waiting list for accommodation so if anyone no longer needed theirs, they would resell it for us. Might be worth looking into?1 point

I am camping in Duboe and out of 6 pm on Wednesday. There is still plenty of room here.1 point

I don't think anyone doubts her quality. Its just whether a festival that had Kendrick Lamar, Blur and Calvin Harris this year would see her as a suitable headliner next year. Its the beauty of Primavera. They probably would. But the same probably wouldn't be said about Werchter or Glastonbury or those mega fests in other countries. Fwiw, I don't think PJ Harvey is a banker for any fest next summer as she's doing a specific intimidate venue tour this time, so it's probably a total different production. But maybe by the time next summer comes around, she will have cooked up something else. If I was to bet today, I'd say... Sza, the Cure, Pulp, and The Chemical Brothers, with a Spanish language act (I'm not well versed in this area) and maybe someone quite poppy, but I don't know who. Covering a wide base.1 point

So unfortunately it’s not looking hopeful that I will be at the farm this year. I hope everyone has THE best time! If you’ve not been before, you’re in for a real treat. To those veterans, enjoy your happy place for another year! I have a little favour to ask. We lost my wonderful dad last year and he was a big blondie fan. If you see her set, can you please raise a glass to my dad Dave during the set? He’d love the idea of a load of people toasting him in the fields.1 point
