  1. If you're booking a trailblazing Contemporary Arts Festival in 2015 with a reputation for pushing the envelope and taking risks, no way you should be picking FM above Kanye

  3. I have to agree. We normally just split the cost of the fuel and parking but from now on, I’m gonna charge my lifts for depreciation of my vehicle and a share of 5 days worth of tax and insurance + half a car wash 😂

  7. This thread is bonkers!!! Cant believe there are so many posts and people trying to work out the cheapest way of getting there, by coach or car. And some of the lengths people have gone?! Including wear and tear. Had a right laugh reading it. Im pi$$ed off the CV tickets are £200, and im not even sure my bog standard white camper van is suitable after reading another post on here but at the end of the day, we all have the choice if to go or not, to camp in a tent or glamp. No one is holding a gun to our heads...........unless they dont like bog standard white camper vans.

  11. I'm not saying in a contractual sense but more than it was on their touring schedule last time, and there's an existing relationship there, so would make sense if they were back around again. But it's Massive Attack so who knows what they're doing.

  15. Realised I never actually did this The Good It's End of the Road. Its charm, especially with the weather is undiminished. The site deffo felt less tatty than 2022. Angel Olsen and Ezra two very special headline sets in the Garden which I'd never experienced before. The musical variety and diversity continues to increase without ever feeling incongruent - watching Overmono and Infinity Knives and they all felt like they were at the right place Beers- the campfire bar was much improved, staff in there were lightening fast and had a great selection of beers. No lageritas though! First time in a campervan, loved it. We arrived Friday so it was a little bit of a trek but would be hard pressed to do it normally now. Music wise, I loved Be Your Own Pet, The Mary Wallopers, Overmono, Elkka, Angel, Ezra, MADMADMAD (so early though), Geese, Alogte Oho and Biig Piig. Overmono in the tent, went off Absolutely out of our tree walking into the cinema stage and seeing without context the end of the Wild Bunch was possibly the highlight of the weekend. My mate meekly repeating "....but why did all those people have to die?" Asking anyone I saw in a Luton shirt if they knew what the West Ham score was, when I in fact already knew the score Food, especially the rendang stand. Never a queue, always slaps. As a fourth wave coffee snob, I love how much effort is extended on there being good coffee I actually rated the compost loos, even though if you got a cup of wood everyone knew you were going for a tip out A friendlier UK festival crowd you will not find, some annoying old people aside The Mid No two ways about it, I love what they're doing but the line up was underpowered. Saturday was a lot of wandering around for me. Luckily it's a nice place to do it, but I'm tempted to wait a bit for this year Sound on Woods was seriously underpowered imo Wet Leg sounded absolutely dreadful. Left after 3 songs and one of them was saying they were ill, so fair enough, but that doesn't explain why the guitar sounded so bad. Fair play to the fest though, that was a legit coup. Future Islands. Man alive that was dreary. Only endured it cos I didn't want to ruin Arooj for people who really wanted to see her due to the state we were in Couldn't get in to Panda Bear 😞 Potato stand selling me hash browns knowing their fryer was done and they weren't going to be able to serve food for like 30 minutes, frauds Wasps. Rat bastards of the insect world. 3 festivals running the tills have gone down. This was the worst yet. Honestly, it's just a cheque A Weird Aside There is a strange tension at EOTR that the crowd is so nice, it sometimes leaves the performance a bit underwhelming? I wouldn't want it to lose its charm, but at the same time I'd like it if the crowd...lost themselves a bit? Every now and then? Maybe why I loved Overmono so much, the one time people in the crowd were going for it The Future It remains a tremendous festival, I always have a great time, but I remain a bit concerned about its future re strength of line up and Green Man's continued acceleration, it's become the poor cousin. I love what they're doing with programming but the mid card was really underwhelming this year combined with uninspiring main stage headliners. I'll probably go again next year, but tempted to hold back until the line up to see the possibility of going on the cheap

  18. I sympathise I do, part of the reason this year was our last. Physically, at the moment, it's either glamping or not going at all and it's going to be the latter. But that was what I was getting at "glamping" is needed for anyone that can't physically cope with the camping, or carrying their stuff large distances. The CV fields offered a cheaper alternative to other such options for those who already had CV's, but I think the festival is rightly seeing they can charge as much for that as as an option as any other glamping option.

  22. Don't think Gaslight have a South West date on their tour, so makes sense that Trees would take that spot. Probably a compromise that one doesn't eat into the other's sales as much by doing it together and gives folks chance to see them wherever is most convenient/cost effective to do so.

  23. Can honestly say, in all the years I did go, including as a photographer when I had to cover a lot of ground, I have never really seen a bad act at Live at Leeds, and usually discovered at least a couple that I wanted to see again. It's a great day out if you like new music, and you can see from the media collaborations Dork, Line of Best Fit, etc) that it is very well respected. If I was going, I'd be checking these for reviews, and then listening to some tracks on Spotify before I make my shortlist. Also have to say, the 'park' version this summer was brilliant, with the added bonus of a few more established acts that they'd showcased in years past. I can't make it this year, but would would love to hear back what everyone thinks of the acts they got to see.

  25. I'd say Bilie not much chance as she's currently in her second touring year. Lana's album was released this year so she could return got European fests and Olivia has a gap end of June to July 19th. She is well young enough to do Wechter and other bits up to possibly even Mad Cool weekend given Philly is East Coast states.

  27. I've not been recently, but never needed VIP in the past. The only venue that used to be hard to get into was the Cockpit, but obvs, that's no longer there. They also post up to date queue info on socials all day, so if there's someone you really want to see, you can judge whether you need to get in early. Also, looks like the two biggest stages this year are the two uni venues, no O2, and these are not too far apart for moving between.

  32. I saw them at Reading Festival just before AI came out, then at Hammersmith Apollo. Best seats I've ever had for a gig at the Apollo that, 2nd row in the centre. I'd be well up for GD headlining Glasto, would be something different but meet all the criteria, established artist, have the back catalogue, and also a 'new' headliner which would be good.

  34. Assuming it's group 1 that has the details in first then group 2 will get bounced out saying that some of the regs are already in use. You could remove those regs and try again but where time is of the essence it's simply not worth the risk. Don't cross the streams.

  35. yep second group will get bounced out ... it will show that the registrations have already been used .... its a big risk and could potentially mess it up for others .... not worth the risk you need to just have 2 groups and then have everyone signed up to trying for both

  39. A good samaritan has set up a Clashfinder with all the set times that have been published so far. Would recommend adding a highlights row so you can plot out the day (go to 'customise' then 'stages'). Looking forward to seeing the Brudenell lineup - hoping the likes of Fat Dog and Cowboyy are there

  40. My latest weigh in and another 3lb's off so that's 54.8lb's or 24.8kg . Going pretty slowly which I suppose they say is the best way. I've had a couple of good non scale victories this month though. The Elton John hoodie I bought at Glastonbury that I could just about get to close is now fitting comfortably. My average steps for the year is up to 18,863 and I had to go into the loft last weekend to get some clothes the next size down as a lot of my clothes were getting too big. Also the biggest one for me is that I've been having a fairly stressful time at work and busy time at home as I was doing some decorating and I have still kept cooking healthy meals every night and very rarely have I reached for any stress food and have still gone out for my evening walks.

  41. Sorry, but I don’t understand why claiming ignorance of one of the biggest Spanish speaking artists in the world (Bad Bunny) when you are clearly interested in music and planning to go to a festival in Barcelona, is considered funny or even a virtue. Sadly, after headlining Coachella with a really great set, releasing one of the best reggaeton albums ever (Un Verano Sin Ti, which is the perfect starting point if genuinely interested), working with a host of international artists (Drake, Gorillaz, Rosalia etc) and having a huge sell out stadium tour of the US and Latin America, I fear the Bunny is now too big for Primavera, and that is a huge pity. He certainly fits the Primavera brand. (One of Pitchfork’s albums of the year). Similarly, C Tangana, is not an ‘easy’ option as the Spanish crowd pleaser. According to a new film, Esta Ambicion Desmedida, his last tour, which was absolutely stupendous for anyone with a love of music, almost bankrupted him. I live in hope of a one-off Primavera slot but can’t see him doing a full tour for a while. I love The Cure to pieces, having first seen them in the late 70’s in Eric’s Liverpool; but would be far more excited about Bad Bunny or C Tangana headlining than Mr Smith and Co. I really hope Primavera keeps pushing the emphasis on the new rather than the past and hope that this year (my 7th) will have a truly exciting forward-looking bill in terms of alternative hip hop, Latin music, K & J pop and Afrobeats. (OK and because I’m nice, some blokes playing guitars too if you insist).

  42. My girlfriend plays his music all the time, she loves Latin music at the moment and I have to say I would recommend nothing I've heard from him. To my ears it's nails on a chalkboard. I like Rosalia but beyond that just can't get into this stuff. He's obviously doing something right to be so popular but it hasn't clicked with me.

  45. Yep, they've got form for booking people just before they go stellar. I remember seeing Alt J in a church with less than 200 people, 2014 they had Royal Blood at one of the uni venues, nowhere near the top slot, Catfish & the Bottle men in The Fav, Capaldi has played the Wardrobe, Sam Fender has played a few years, Lizzo was also on in 2014, but didn't get to see her, 2012 had Jessie Ware and Bastille on early afternoon, and Public Service Broadcasting were upstairs in Milos bar after midnight...
