  1. If Carly wasn‘t secured Gabi should have called her maybe?

  2. Good evening, I have posted here in the past but had trouble accessing my other account so made a new one. Anyway, I'm seeing a lot of complaints about the lineup and it does seem a bit childish - many are judging it based on what's not on the lineup rather than what is there. Too many of us spend our time fantasising about who may be there and obsessing over various rumours/predictions, so we build unrealistic expectations. Then when the lineup finally arrives, we are either disappointed because the acts we had hoped for aren't there, or the acts we want are there but it doesn't feel like as much of a surprise because we've already discussed them loads. I would have loved for The Cure to be there - they are one of my favourite bands ever - but I realise it was just a wish and I have to just accept they aren't playing, and hope they'll play another year instead. I'm not going to get angry at Primavera because of their absence. If you actually bother to explore the lineup, you'll find there's plenty of good stuff on there to appeal to different tastes. Sure, it might not be as commercial as some of the previous editions (although the likes of Lana, SZA, Mitski etc are still big names) and I've seen people whining about such things as the lack of a Latin headliner for example - but you seem to forget it's only fairly recently that PS decided to go in a more "commercial" direction, and they have since said they are trying to return to their roots. So maybe the real Primavera isn't for you and you should find something else - I wouldn't go to a metal festival forum and complain about the lack of electronic artists on the lineup. Another issue is that people keep blaming the fest for certain acts not being booked, without considering that there are other factors involved too - like maybe The Smile aren't available or maybe they didn't want to play or maybe another Spanish festival has booked them instead. Also, I get some people are disappointed because they paid for early bird tickets and don't like the lineup but that's just the risk you took and need to accept that. It's like gambling ain't it? Anyway, while you lot are whinging that its not perfect, me and my pal @scatteredscreensare gonna be having it large at ✝️ JUSTICE ✝️ Peace out

  3. Actually, you can. Look at some previous years, where some festivals got "exclusivities". Lately, you have HellFest, in 2022, who managed to get NIN thanks to their booker. Or even Ghost as a headliner. That was their only date in June, and it was thanks to their good relationship with the festival. So if for your 30th anniversary you just get "the names which are around", that's poor.. I understand AMERICAN artists might be hard to get outside of their window presence, but European ones... There's PLENTY of europeans artists/bands touring this summer, it's not impossible to negociate an extra date for a special occasion. Unless of course the fest' doesn't care... and to me, for a festival like Sziget, one of the 3 biggest in Europe, that would be a shame.

  4. True, the main and second stage dont clash. Stages are like 3 minutes apart so you can catch all artists on both stages. The second biggest act of the day is playing on the main stage. The third live stage is Hidden stage (tent), which has hosted names like Peter Bjorn & John, Dry Cleaning..., and it traditionally hosts some promising rising artists, like Fontaines DC and Black Honey back in 2019, before they got bigger. Here you can see stages and it's timelines from 2019: https://clashfinder.com/s/inmusic2019/ Last year they extended the festival to 4 days and it felt like the undercard was weaker, for that reason I expect Sleaford Mods to be in the same place or maybe even lower. Interpol actually headlined in 2018 but were announced in February, when tickets were already selling very well (it was a sold out edition) and the turnout was not the best, so I doubt they would get to headline again. I'm waiting for INmusic to add the lineup on the website, because usually the order gives us an idea, where some acts stand. If I were to guess I would say Viagra will be on Main and The Gaslight Anthem on the second stage.

  5. Pleased I started a debate about this. For those who’ve said “let people do what they want”, I agree to an extent. But the point is it’s incredibly distracting to see the light, and if you’ve paid for a gig you are entering into a contract to watch and experience the artist. It’s not an excuse that people “experience it in a different way”, if you want to be on your phone then you can watch clips on YouTube sat at home. I think the baseline is about respect. Respect the artist, film, theatre, whatever it is, respect the audience.

  7. While they're at it, they could rename the Pyramid the MOR Stage or the Radio 1 Stage.

  9. I had never heard of Duster. Been listening for the past couple of hours - so far they are fantastic! That's why I spend time on this forum and that's why I love this festival.

  10. Been at a gig tonight, a tame singer songwriter affair. Someone in front filming taking pictures every two mins, the person next to her on Reddit checking the setlist from a previous gig. A group of girls down the row all together and filming non stop. Another woman with her partner, filmed every single song. I’m not a Luddite, I understand people have a powerful camera in their pocket and may want a memento, but the frequency is baffling. Not only that, but it completely ruins the experience for me. The distraction of the light really takes you out of the zone, leaves me personally filling up with annoyance and rage - effectively ruining the show. For me, you should honour and respect the artist you’re seeing with your full attention, I see no reason for the shocking frequency at which people hold up phones. How can we return to a time where people have more respect and prefer to enjoy the moment than capture it? I’ve been to several gigs where your phones are confiscated and it’s wonderful. Similarly when the artist calls it out and requests people not to, or directs them to one song only. It fills me with total despair to come away from a gig feeling that I couldn’t concentrate or enjoy because of all the distractions.

  11. Doesn't matter. I'll sell 25% to a private equity firm and hire a chopper (that runs on biodiesel) to ferry us all in. Then I'll send the lads round to the firm, get the equity back and do it again next year.

  12. Hotel is my preferred accommodation option too, so we are in the same boat. I'am regularly going to Reading festival, Rock im Park, Rock for People and Sziget, all are held in town and easily accessible. I reckon InMusic works the same as it's in Zagreb but I haven't attended it. Cheers!

  13. Best kept secret has a hotel option on the campsite as well as bungalows and fancy tents. Great festival, already have our 8p bungalow booked for next year.

  16. Realistically, I think the states could change like this: MSE & MSW staying as they are. The big tent coming back, hosting a wide range of genres like it used to (dance, hip hop, rock and indie). I could see Skrillex and Digga D headlining this if the tent is the size of the old one. And then a rock band for the other night. FR staying as it is, hosting a mix of heavier bands and indie bands. The 1Xtra and Dance tents combining into one, hosting both types of music. The comedy tent going completely. Introducing stage staying how it is.

  19. I wouldn’t worry, I didn’t get a coupon for the ones I bought Thursday. I did those on self scan so didn’t get a receipt . If you check your membership account it should show the transaction on there, my friend didn’t get coupons either when she bought them

  22. It makes so much more sense just to have all 6 headliners as co-headliners on the main stage and bring a tent back. Given MSW finishes earlier anyway, there is virtually no difference. Doing that way as well every big act plays the same size stage.

  23. Wow, amazing. A few of us on here were hopeful they would eventually play. This has added later a la The Smile last year written all over it…

  24. I wish I'd had a phone for memories of the hundreds of gigs I attended before they became a thing.

  25. That’s correct. I’m not all that tall and at most standing gigs I can usually just about see the stage but not through a sea of arms raised up holding illuminated mobile phones. Don’t mind folk taking a quick video but not the whole gig!

  29. I used to be with 'it'. But then they changed what 'it' was. Now what i'm with isn't 'it' anymore and what is 'it' seems weird and scary. It will happen to you!

  30. I’m with you and wish they went back to what worked so well before. Never understood why they felt the need to keep tinkering. The two stage setup lost a lot of the previous charm and the year before they angled the stage in a bad way too.

  31. There’s an interesting jump before Charli XCX, I think Carly Rae Jepsen was booked as well, given Gabi’s comments on the official forum. She’s no Massive Attack though.
    1 point
  32. Yeah, because there's a single shot (presumably pre-recorded) of an act with a name alphabetically before Massive and then the camera moves in one frame to another act with a name just after Massive.

  36. To summarise this thread since the lineup came out, there have been four main type of post: - This lineup in underwhelming, and I preferred 2018 - This lineup is quite good, and I enjoyed 2019 - It's a shame Massive Attack/The Smile are missing - Wow, that Sofia Kourtesis album is brilliant For those in the last camp, having seen her live, I can confirm Sofia is an all around delight and we all have a lovely time with her at the Forum next year.

  37. Just in case it was of any importance, it was pointed out to me that Omaze may not award a person the prize if the 'winner' has a criminal conviction or two, of a certain nature. I do one single postal entry for the Omaze houses - in my wife's name!

  40. As I bought an Early Bird ticket for BKS24 back in June, I got an email a couple of days ago offering me the chance to pre-book the fixed accommodation (pre-pitched tents, cabins, etc.). That offer ends at noon next Monday 27th, so I would assume the announcement and general sale will start very shortly (if not immediately) after that. Possibly an announcement Monday morning, then sales start at noon...

  41. This is hideous. At 44 secs she forgets she's miming and the mic isn't even near her. Awful. I'd choose Stevie over this any day.

  43. How, saw Biffy finish, got a pint in and had to wait for Gallagher to do his admittedly funny welcome, before f**king off to see Girl in Red.... Its easy to do unless youre going front to front. In which case you need to join #BRINGBACKTHEBIGTEN

  47. All I can add to the topic is that I've been to NovaRock because of the line up back in 2017 I think. Prior to that Sziget was my only big festival experience. And oh boy... rubbish everywhere, lack of food selection, the contains of the toilet were flowing on the road. Yes, I had a few gigs there that was awesome, though even the audience wasn't the same, the crowd wasn't vibing that much with the bands... And the worst thing: there's nothing to do during the day. I thought all festivals had activities going on like at Sziget, but no. At Sziget there are great decorations everywhere, lights, constant activities, huge selection of food and drinks, normal toilets, etc. I wouldn't change that for a few additional names in the line up. None of my friends are looking at the line up either, it's a no brainer that we are doing Sziget even before any announcement. I think that's why I love the whole guessing game and line up announcements, because these are "free" gigs for me, because I will be there anyway, no matter what, and I'm curious what I'm going to see.

  48. Personally if you've seen The Smyths before then you didn't miss much here. It was okay but unless you actually sound like The Smyths it's just a tribute/novelty act. The Smyths are far superior.
