  1. Hi everyone. I just noticed this on the 6 music online? Perhaps the poster is coming at that time also.

  2. Tremendous work from the new poster there, fake radio line-ups a whole new ballgame. Hat tipped

  3. 'Thanks for buying a ticket real early, here's the rest of the line up but it's cheap and it's no-one you'll have heard of, see you next year?' I don't buy it, personally, although I recognise there's less need for them to go out and book needlessly expensive bands now the tickets have sold out.

  4. Not doubting your intel, as it's always been pretty accurate, but I know from what I was told by a very reliable source a couple of years back that by this date, the majority of the line up is booked. You may be right in that some could still be at the negotiation stage, so might change, but I still expect them to bring out more decent international bands and DJs. If you look at old line ups, there's always been a big Belgian presence across every stage and I think the overall % will be very similar when the whole line up is out. They've got a great opportunity to really consolidate their position and make what's happened this year a regular thing so I doubt they'll mess that up by booking loads of cheap local acts to 'weaken' the poster. People aren't stupid and will see straight through it. Confidence Man announced for Lowlands (along with Roisin Murphy and Teddy Swims amongst others) so hope they're added for PKP. Also, people will naturally compare LL with PKP so if there's loads of medium sized bands that LL have booked but PKP haven't then questions will naturally be asked why?

  10. The only argument I have had at Glastonbury with someone outside my own group was one of the picnic blanket weirdos. It was near the front of the pyramid field I think prior to whoever was subbing and there were masses of people trying to to get in and out of the field. This woman had a HUGE blanket laid out with the corners weighted down. There was a row of chairs behind it with people in them and a row in front so it was almost a dead end and it was causing a bottle neck of people very courteously trying their best to make their way around this woman's little land-grab island. This weirdo was standing in the middle of the 40 sqft blanket by herself patrolling to make sure nobody stepped on it. Despite my best (very tipsy) efforts to avoid doing so I did in fact stand on the corner of her blanket and she then started very publicly berating me for doing so. I gave her an awful volley of verbal abuse and very generously found enough decency within myself to spare her life. Just don't understand that mentality.

  13. The Monday is a bank Holiday in Belgium, I think and I think it might not overlap with exam retakes either. Lowlands sold out again so Goldband (and CDW) might have been a clever booking to attract people who missed out on tickets for that, plus last year's edition went down well as well, plus its cheaper. It's also a more balanced line up than last year and you could argue a better undercard so far. There's no massive single act this year like Billie but there is Fred whose hugely popular at the moment, plus I think people underestimate how many tickets Sam Smith will shift for this demographic. Still unreal sales, given all the above. No-one saw this coming.

  20. Between this and the Oxford appearance the day before it does suggest the PR wheels are in motion so hopefully a release soon! Although I'd laugh if we all tune in at 8am only to find she's promoting some ticket competition or plugging some new green initiative for the site this year.

  24. My real introduction to The National was, bizarrely, their hour beneath Foo Fighters in 2017. I know a lot of people walked away disgruntled from that, but for me, it was a terrific gateway. Felt there was barely a dud among them. When I Need My Girl rose up, it was goosebumps. Just magical.

  25. If only there was a convenient headline position somewhere in size between Pyramid headliner and WH headliner, no?

  26. Yeah, I'm similar. For me, it's been diminishing returns since High Violet, even though I do think Trouble Will Find Me has some astonishing songs on it and I do listen to it frequently. But with the new ones hitting (and the entirely understandable fact that they take up a big portion of their current setlist) I just can't find the time or money to be interested in seeing them on their recent tours. And given that I was so obsessed with them between 2005-2013 that does make me a little sad 😥

  27. Nice bit of sunshine and a brisk wind will help dry out the fields. We had to cancel a few days down your way last week so will have to rely on you locals for updates, until we have a pre festival camping break in May But by then the build has started so the site is out of bounds.

  28. That's more a stab at what it could be. Ten songs dictated by personal preference becomes a whole different game. New York would be absolutely in there.

  29. Aye, it's not exactly a popular one, is it. With absolutely no disrespect to Stevie, I'd have paid more to see the Buckingham McVie run. Best part of a dozen Fleetwood Mac songs in there and several - Go Your Own Way, You Make Loving Fun, Little Lies, Everywhere - among my personal favourites of the singles.

  41. Im so glad Emily does the booking not many of the people posting here .... she and the team doing an amazing job with a pretty great mix of artists , including the massive ones that sell out stadiums and yes look incredible on the bbc which help the festival sell out year after year and they should continue to book those acts if they are available while adding some others into the mix like they've potentially done with SZA . its pretty easy to walk to another of the 5 main stages . Nice one Emily

  42. I wish they'd do that for Max Cooper. I've just watched his Live at the Acropolis set in YouTube and can't help but feel all that AV is wasted in the Far Out Tent 😂😂. Definitely worth a watch if you have a big telly (I wish mine was bigger).

  44. wow. just... wow... I'm from Edmonton originally - I always knew that Bob (and many other big names) had played at a venue in Edmonton but last time I tried to find any info (admittedly quite a long time ago) I could never really find anything. It blows my mind that Bob Marley played at a venue that was, quite literally, just down the road from where I used to live. how I dearly wish I could have been there to witness this. I cant really remember the building when I was growing up but I'm pretty sure it stood derelict for a while, and it's now a Lild supermarket! (or at least it was last time I was there, but that was quite a while ago).
