  1. It was from someone on the download reddit. Someone asked about NIN and someone in the replies said they spoke to Andy Copping (downloads lead booker) and he replied saying they werent doing Download and doing the O2 next year. Given the context of it being in a download reddit it seems somewhat believable. I'm crossing my fingers.

  5. Jack White snuck his new album into customers bags at TMR stores and told them to rip it and share it! It's unreal as well, his best solo album yet.

  6. I'm sorry, I just assumed that question was about Spanish acts instead of each one's country 😉

  7. That violin part at the end reminds me of The Lark Ascending which was my dad's funeral song. Oooft. Right in the feels.

  13. Yeah they appeared for about an hour and then suddenly went off again, sorry I didn't update it sooner However, someone's posted these from another forum and this matches exactly what I saw so they're probably right - it's only Obelisk, tent and comedy but the rest will probably come later

  14. Agree that Brutus is not the right size, but in case the bigger alternatives don't work out, I could see them move up Big Thief or Loyle and book some smaller act for an early spot... The Pukkelpop list doesnt seem too realistic to be honest although I'd love to see DCFC again.

  16. It's got a couple of catchy choruses but the songs are just way too long and drawn out, and somehow even more-so live. Hope they go back down the punk route with their next music.

  17. They aren’t there for anyone. They appeared for a short while but then were removed again. I, or someone, will post here when they go live. One year they only appeared in the app on the Thursday, but they seem to have got their act together since then.

  18. People are always resistant to change. First timers won't miss the mini guide, and pretty soon all us they knew about them will be dead. It's the circle of life 😂

  20. Getting High Vis back would be a great shout. Yeah spot on. Suit Slam Dunk more so maybe there first. Can see Turnstile doing it. James said his 3 dream headliners were Alexisonfire, Biffy Clyro and Deftones so can see him trying for all 3 with Alexis probably most likely but he does have a close relationship with Simon Neil due to ESB but would mean increasing the capacity for Biffy & Deftones. I’m also hoping for FIDLAR. Was buzzing when the silent disco played By Myself. Yeah, could easily come out of the studio for a one off show for a festival like trees. Makes it more special too. Yes please for Billy Talent and Feeder. I feel like Menzingers will do it. Hoping Holding Absence don’t get any higher on the lineup though, so overhyped and a waste of a slot for me. Shame about the setlist because they’ve got everything else. The new stuff just seems like a Ghost tribute act. Yeah I’d like to see them on the lineup. Surely too big? Feel like more of a second stage headliner or 3rd down at Download.

  21. What I like... Meet The Old Gentleman of Raahe. Believed to be the worlds oldest surviving diving suit from the 18th century. The Old Gentleman is made mostly of leather, with seams stitched with pitch thread and sealed with pitch. Pitch is derived from petroleum, coal tar, or plants. To waterproof it, the suit was coated with a mixture of mutton tallow, tar, and pitch. The top of the suit, the hood, is reinforced with strips of wood on the inside. Air was probably pumped for the diver with bellows through wooden pipes joined with flexible leather stockings. The top of the hood presumably featured a flap valve where the air came in, correspondingly leaving through a pipe in the back. The diver squeezed into the diving suit through a hole in the suit’s stomach, which was closed by twisting the long leather strip with the hole around the belt and fastening it around the diver’s waist. The diving suit made it possible to inspect the condition of a ship’s bottom without having to tilt the boat or dry-dock it.

  25. So four days at the festivals completed with style and here are my thoughts about this years edition. Positives: Took a while to get used to, but I liked the new open tents. Nice touch with toilets in the front and the Barn even had a bar. Less chaos compared to last year (but also less interesting bands) New recycle system worked much better, without having to bring 15 each time. Decent selection on (expensive) food Negatives Except for the Thursday, the sold out days seems more and more crowded every year. RW is really squeezing the last drops out of the lemon now. Usually it has been a festival with hardly any lines, but now there were quite a few (especially toilet lines). How on earth could you do a festival with no soap/anti-bac on all about a few toilet areas? That's disgusting. Lockers still being outside the festival area is crap Line-up un Sunday being the weakest in my 12 year RW career (and probably the festival overall also) Security extremely weak. The two last days they didn't even wanna check my backpack. The positives is naturally that lines get faster (which they need to be), but not like this. Khruangbin as a sub. Not taking musical quality into consideration, but as expected/feared it fell flat on it's ass, and whoever decided this should never come near festival programming again. Best gigs: Tom Morello The Hives Skindred Bob Vylan Nathaniel Rateliff (Frank Carter and Foo as honorable mentions) Biggest disappointments: The Streets (was he on the same planet as the rest of us?) Kneecap (did not live up to the live-hype) Avril Lavigne (no expectations, but c'mon. Show up mentally at least) Dropkick Murphys (like their music, but this was laziness) Nothing But Thieves (like their music even more, but this was also lazy, and they should be careful not turning into KOL on stage) Well, under a year to the next edition now.. Let's hope for an even better one and let the line-up guessing games begin 🙂
