    Seems fair overall so far

  4. I don't know if it's been publicised on here yet but the fantastic BEAK> (ft. Geoff of Portishead fame) are supporting in Manchester.

This makes my current lack of ticket even more painful as they were nothing short of excellent in Soup Kitchen a few weeks ago.

  5. The Rabbit Hole (bar part) often can throw on bands quite late. Crows Nest is a personal favourite but always advisable to check the line up on their Twitter each day before trekking up the hill.

I've been on a low dosage of sertraline for 3 years and my alcohol consumption hasn't changed that much. Doctors will probably try to steer you clear of excessive drinking outside the max recommended units (but they'll do that anyway!)

I don't drink all that much now anyway, but i've seen no obviously adverse effects to heavier nights of drinking beyond my hangovers being that bit harder to pull out of, but shaking them off has never been much of a problem for me at Glastonbury.

Maybe test it out over the next few weekends? Have a couple of extra drinks, try going just past tipsy and edging into hammered? You'll get a sense of whether it's worth it.

Prior to the meds, I always took MDMA at Glastonbury. I loved the complete loss of self-consciousness, how it obliterated my fear of talking to people, of dancing and singing. I hated the come-downs, the feeling of not wanting to leave my tent. Not condoning or condemning. On SSRI anti-depressants like sertraline, citalopram though, MDMA has absolutely no effect on me. It does nothing. So this year I shall be relying purely on a few drinks and the strides in confidence I've made through CBT for my good times. And I'm very okay with that! :)

I can relate. Last year was an interesting experience as due to the Sertraline it was an alcohol only affair. This didn't hold me back at all, I even think I was in the Irish Piano bar until 8 one morning. Though the main negative was due to the increased alcohol consumption my bladder was working overtime, and LCD soundsystem would have been even more amazing with a few extras.

I think I could attend the festival sober and still have an amazing time due to the atmosphere. Overall attending Glastonbury last year was a big factor in lowering my depression/anxiety to a workable state. I was on the up before the festival and I was able to maintain it after and get off the meds within 2 months. This year will be a messier affair and I cannot wait.

    The Dead Kennedys?

Obviously no Jello but I am so happy with this. Watching Holiday in Cambodia live at Glastonbury is about as unlikely a thing I ever could have wished for!

ho99o9 are playing the Truth stage at Shangri-La, one of the members just self confirmed on Facebook to a friend of mine

Awesome! Saw them support Dillinger Escape Plan earlier this year and thought they were great!

  9. Spoke to Jono Ma (he of Jagwar Ma fame) at Live at Leeds over the weekend.

He said he'll be DJing and didn't rule out nor fully confirm a full live band show

Adrian of Moonlandingz also confirmed they'll be doing Park Stage around 2/3 on Saturday in case that needed any further confirmation

Faith no More- The Real Thing

    1. From out of nowhere

    2. Epic

    3. Falling to pieces

I think FNM's Angel Dust's 1-2-3 of Land of Sunshine, Caffeine and Midlife Crisis pips this. I don't think there is a heavier, funkier mindf*** of an opening triad.  Sets the tone for the entire album.

On the subject of Mike Patton. Mr Bungle's California has a great opening trio. Jumping from Beach Boys pop todark acoustic laments

    1. "Sweet Charity"
    2. "None of Them Knew They Were Robots"
    3. "Retrovertigo"

Also saw Lars Ulrich down the rabbit hole whilst Sasha was on in 2014

I also saw Lars there. Hanging with Bradley Cooper and Michael Fassbender. Didn't feel up to butting into their conversation.

I did meet Yak last year at Jagwar Ma's Crows Nest set. Then met/chatted to Jagwar Ma for a bit before New Order.

Also chatting to Ed O'Brien at one of Thom Yorke's DJ set. I was a lot less starstruck than my Radiohead loving mate but he seemed quite friendly.

  12. Alt-J were boring me to tears in 2013 so luckily headed of fin time to see the end of Tom Tom Club at West Holts (Psycho Killer :D ) which maybe added to my apathy about how bad they were. Saw them again do a night set at Sziget and they had more tunes but no stage presence whatsoever.

Dolly Parton was a bit of a disappointment. The novelty wore off pretty quick and I realised what I was actually listening to.

Black Keys were also a bit meh for sub-headliners.

Looks like there's a good chance there will be a clash with Katy Perry so.  Oh well, it's not the end of the world as it's not Radiohead which was worse case scenario.

I've had fears of a Justice/Radiohead clash ever since Justice were rumoured. This is great news!

  14. Radiohead - Class, not their biggest fan by any stretch but a great live experience 10/10

Foo Fighters - 3x - With the right setlist a 9/10 - last time I saw them it was weak on the first two albums a bit didisappointing

    Future Islands - 3x - Glorious 10/10

The Moonlandingz 4x - They get better each time - fantastic live band 10/10

Biffy Clyro - Saw them about 4 times between Puzzle and Opposite, less enjoyable as their output quality declines, not that arsed to see again 6/10

Alt J - Twice, unfortunately. Proficient but borrrrrrring 4/10

Major Lazer - saw at a festival, really not my thing, they mix in a lot of early 00's Dancehall/Sean Paul dirge,  will avoid 3.10

Warpaint - 3x - first time really disappointing at Field Day, brilliant the other times 7/10

Haim - Great on the Park in 2013, will hope to catch again 8/10

Mark Lanegan 2x - Captivating and beautiful. Park stage will be perfect 9/10

    Chic - Great fun 8/10

Temples 2x - solid live, nothing spectacular 7/10

    Blossoms - A weaker Temples - 6/10

Kaiser Chiefs - 2x - Was fun the first time for nostalgic purposes, secret set in 2014 was dreadful. 5/10

    Metronomy 2x - very fun 8/10

Moderat - Very good live, great light show - 8/10

Sleaford Mods - 2x - Great live, a lot of energy, though not an act worth seeing countless times 8/10

Dizzee Rascal - more entertaining than expected 6/10

Royal Blood - need more tunes but a great live band -9/10

George Ezra - caught him at Glasto a few years ago. Has a great voice but his music is a bit too bland. 6/10

Really excited for Thundercat, Barry Gibb and The CAN Project of the remainder of the line up. Overall really happy with it

Said the same but JP instead of WG. They are so fucking intense live. Gutted.

Damn it! After their Manchester gig I had visions of a mid afternoon JP set blowing away my previous day's hangover.

They are an absolute force live!

  16. Are they big enough for early Other stage or a dead cert for John Peel?

Either way I hope they end up in the Crow's Nest again. They played there on the one Glasto I failed to get tickets for in the last 5 years and I still am gutted to have missed that gig.
