Possibly unfair, misguided and overly rockist but the pop headliners of Glastonburys past and pretty much all of the suggested potentials have massive hits that have penetrated a wider consciousness; I don't think Ariana Grande has a single one and will mainly appeal to people actively tuning into the pop channels/stations and breathing it in. This is no good for Glastonbury and its average age of 39. By the looks of it, she will eventually reach that level but we can probably lay off seriously considering until then.

Is this a guess or a fact?

It did eventually.  However, starting a new thread on the basis of a sly reference to the offending coment comes across as a rallying cry to get more people in on the act.

It came across to me as a genuine attempt to start a conversation about potential rules with an attempt (IMO successful) at using a funny title to grab attention.

Wolf Alice winning the Mercury was baffling. Debut was great and exciting but the follow-up is just pretty solid and, Don't Delete The Kisses aside, had no right to be winning awards imo. The Vaccines' first two albums were better fo sho.

Yeah it feels like they won it for the wrong album, almost like they were getting very late recognition for a great debut. I think Wolf Alice are miles better than The Vaccines though, who in turn are miles ahead of Kaiser Chiefs.

Yeah this is true, I just wouldn't expect it to be a specific hint to that album/tour when it is pretty evident that Damn. has had it's day.

My main motivation for doubting is because Kendrick - Cure - Macca just seems too good to be true so I'm trying to convince myself it's not happening

The hint just needed to be something that would make people think of Kendrick without saying his name, the recency of the album/song is irrelevant. Wasn't the Pink hint from an old song anyway?

  5. Great setlist but does anyone know what's happened there? Was there something special about the show/date/venue? Very odd to suddenly only play 1 song off their latest album and drop the likes of Bloodbuzz Ohio and Mr November that I think they play every gig.

Are the Monkeys being dismissed on account of a single bloke in the US being told not to worry about getting married on the day they do a gig on the other side of the Atlantic? They would seem just such the right 'mainstream current guitar band' going right now. Recent tour tickets were gold dust.

There are other reasons why this isn't the right year for them but in terms of info to rule them out...he's not just a "single bloke in the US", he knows more than any of us and has a track record of being bang on every time. See my above post for the support for that point.

The 1975 are bigger than FATM was in 2015 and definitely bigger than her currently. They’ve stormed the world and are far and away the UK’s current big thing in music. This is the Mumfords argument of 2013 all over again.

Are they really at the level of Mumfords in 2013? Bloody hell, this one has passed me by.

No mate honestly. It was a topic that came up on the City forum I go on. Not sure how sky sports news could give their our sources understand bullshit in regards to transfer rumours. Surely that is a conflict of interests? I have no facts to back this up and only going off what was said on Bluemoon, but It does make sense.

Yeah I had a chat with some mates about this too with regards to the Villa manager speculation and odds. However:

Sky Bet is majority-owned by CVC Capital Partners, the private equity firm which used to control Formula One motor racing, and had been planning a £3bn flotation of the gaming company. CVC holds 71% of Sky Bet's shares, while Sky plc, the owner of Sky News, has a 20% stake

20% still enough to be a conflict of course so not sure how they get away with it.

I was wondering that...It seemed like something you might say as a joke to deflect from the fact that you were actually doing Glastonbury "urrrrm....i think i have a wedding or some shit....yeh, that's it". But maybe the poster knows the source very well :)

It wasn't like that at all. Blake (who runs AMUS) has a wedding Glasto weekend and was worried he'd miss them at Glasto. He spoke to someone from AM's record label who said they're not playing. As you can probably guess from my username, I've followed AM closely this year. The things he's provided correct info on includes but isn't limited to: exact album announcement date, album release, the list of festivals they were to play (including Primavera despite a lot of insistence they wouldn't) and where they'd play on tour. I would be very very surprised if he got incorrect info and said it publicly.

Mate at work went to IOW primarily to see DM as he's a massive fan.

    Was massively let down.

Said they didn't have a clue how to play a festival set / didn't play a greatest hits with just a few newies slipped in.

    Carry on...

Surprised by this. Saw them at Mad Cool (almost exactly the same set) and I thought they absolutely nailed it and the crowd, even really far back, was massively into it. Not sure which other greatest hits were needed but let's hope they Never Let (Him) Down Again.

Where's their "special UK summer date" at? Tour's been over a couple of weeks.

Good question. But to be fair, I don't think 'relatively soon' reads at all as 'in the next month'. Plenty of time for that to be correct.

Apologies, I've only glanced read the last couple of pages inbetween meetings - was there specific mention of it being a UK Festival? Otherwise, it could be Rock Werchter? If that was the case, then with The Cure already confirmed for them we're currently comfirming the Rock Werchter line up!

They played Rock Werchter this year so that can be ruled out. Just 'iconic June festival'. Here's the tweet:

What's the capacity of APE, though, compared to BST? Surely The Strokes are a better bet for selling tickets than any of last year's headliners, minus maybe Nick Cave? Plus I don't think the BST undergrad was that great for fans of The Strokes. They're hardly likely to be big Beck fans. Stick em on at APE with someone like Interpol below them and it makes a lot more sense.

I reckon they're definitely a bigger draw than Nick Cave. The XX surely were too. Have no idea how fast tickets went in comparison or if the Cave day sold out but surely they were more popular at a London festival in 2018 than Cave.

If this 1975 info is just about them being asked to play I don't see why it can't be as a sub. Sure, they might not accept it but if they booked Biffy Clyro as a sub last year I don't see why they couldn't ask The 1975.

Exactly. Whilst they *might* be big enough to headline, they're certainly not too big for a sub slot.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but when you eventually get through to the booking page you'll see two large 'buttons' essentially.

One for Wednesday Coach package and one for Thursday. You select whichever you want and then you can select location / time and enter reg. details and postcodes. Then you proceed to confirm all details and get to the payment page and then BOOM!

See photo below, obviously this example has Wednesday as sold out.

    Perfect! Thank you very much.

  16. Can someone please remind me of the structure of the coach ticket page in terms of the user journey? Do you filter by location first and then day (Wed, Thurs?)? Or is it a massive list or combinations?

You will completely void the other group if/when they get in and they will all be kicked off the page. And they won't know why. You'll almost guarantee that group 2 have no chance to get tickets.

Is this true? Unless my memory is deceiving me, I thought it came up with a message telling you a reg is incorrect or already used and you can just change to another? Obviously it's crucial that it's communicated quickly when someone is successful because of time but I haven't heard anything about being booted off the page straight away before.

Ive got a mac , if you go onto the app store there's an app that you can install to refresh as often as you choose. I've used that and its been pretty successful when getting tickets before

That could be brilliant, never heard of it. Is it 'Browser Auto Refresh' you use? You can't refresh off the page when you get through can you?
