Unlikely but could they fly back for nex gen in full on the saturday? - twenty one pilots are teasing an extended 25 track version of their new album clancy. Not sure where this has come from but i’ve seen the 16th mentioned as a potential announcement/release date. Could be a surprise drop at download on the sunday. - Foo Fighters play manchester on thursday and saturday and glasgow on monday. Secret set on sunday feels the most likely. - Linkin park possible reunion been rumoured. This would be a hell of a way to announce it

Not too clued up on current rap, don’t think I’ve actually known anyone that’s played on 1xtra in recent years so just had a guess at that one

Lineup prediction - Finding it very strange that there has still been no mention of MSE and MSW. Could be a return to the old format with co-headliners on every day and all 13 names already announced as stage headliners.

Having thought about the rumoured names (and tried to convince myself that this can’t possibly be what the festival has come to) I don’t think there’s enough range there. The last few years we have had a mix of proper rock, indie, rap and pop - whereas the 6 being talked about today all seem to cater to indie pop/indie rock with the exception of billie eilish being pure pop. So final prediction: MCR and Paramore - rock Foals and Sam Fender - Indie Kendrick Lamar - Rap Billie Eilish - pop
