  1. Deftones will sub Sleep Token I'd imagine - a Friday top 3 of Sleep Token / Deftones / Spiritbox is an absolute slam dunk run for Download. Round the day out with Meshuggah / Leprous or Periphery / Loathe / Static Dress or A.A. Williams and you have a perfect blend of old and new that blends together well in a coherent way, but also covers a really wide variety of genre's.
  2. Guessing PR is supposed to be Papa Roach only other PR I can think of who might be big enough is Porter Robinson and that seems very unlikely. Guessing S is supposed to be Spiritbox, but could be so many other acts like Skindred or Sepultura instantly come to mind
  3. MCR and System will pop up at Download again in the future
  4. I heard they were in talks for 2025 during autumn of 2023, have not had confirmation.
  5. I agree and from what I have heard I'm almost certain Foos are doing R+L and struggle to see both bands at R+L in the same year, so realistically the only options for Linkin Park are Isle of Wight, Glastonbury and/or BST. Isle of Wight pay their headliners the bag, will let them play other shows and is a Live Nation event so is definitely feasible. BST would allow them to play an outdoors festival show and some additional shows around the UK. Would also mean they could do Glastonbury. Glastonbury they get loads of exposure and would be allowed to do other shows as most Glastonbury headliners do allow other shows around the UK. Guns 'n' Roses, Elton John and Arctic Monkey's all did in 2023 and rumours were Stevie Wonder was doing Glastonbury and BST until he pulled out of both... I think BST or Isle of Wight and other shows seems most likely, but if they were discussing festival slots and are certain to be in Europe if Glastonbury was struggling to pick up headliners I could see them approaching them. Would imagine that they would get a decent crowd there as most people will surely know Numb, In the End, What I've Done and Crawling.
  6. I think one does R+L and the other does Glastonbury / Glastonbury and BST if it is LP.
  7. Yeah, it is. I would say APE is a bust as they only sell tickets through AXS, but BST has TM as a ticketing partner, so people can buy through TM, and it has had Live Nation promoted tours before.
  8. Bring Me did the same slot Sleep Token are doing at Rock AM/IM in 2023 when they headlined Download. Avenged Sevenfold also did the same slot in 2018 and 2024 when they headlined Download and subbed the festival similar value slot in 2014 when they headlined Download. I can't be asked to find anymore, but they were fresh in my mind. You can't compare a bands size in Europe with their size in the UK and vice-versa. Volbeat headline lots of festivals in Europe and are a third down main band at Download.
  9. Either would be great. If it was - Sleep Token / My Chemical Romance / Korn - I personally would prefer it, but Green Day would be a top 3 ever booking with AC/DC and Metallica. You can't say not to them if you are Download. Guaranteed ticket seller.
  10. So it is Sleep Token plus 2 from: Green Day A smaller headliner (probably Korn) A big get who is... Whatever combination it turns out to be, it sounds like it has the makings of a good year.
  11. Yeah, that's the one. Found it really interesting how many acts were both in the headliner and non-headliner pool as well as the sheer volume of metal and alternative acts.
  12. R+L have sent a quiz out for free tickets for next year and it asks about headliners and non-headliners for next year. Very interesting who they have listed as headliners and as non headliners. I'll get some screen shots and post in here before I complete it sans my picks.
  13. That is what I hope it ends up as. I just can't see Download not taking LP even if it is with a new singer.
  14. Linkin Park or Sleep Token Blink, Green Day, MCR or Muse Slipknot Imagine if they went with LP over Sleepy T in the end that LP might end up on the Saturday instead.
  15. I imagine they drop the six headliners for next year or announce that the six headliners are the three main stage and three Chevron headliners in future. The festival has gone out saying that the fest sold so well this year was because of the Chevron and primarily want to still appeal massively to the 16-21 age range, but know that they will need to be able to ensure that they still appeal to previous attendees even if it is just on day tickets as they will have more disposable income. I think the future push is going to be try to get when possible a very big pop/hip-hop/electronic headliner, an alternative headliner - rock/pop-punk/alternative - and an indie headliner for main. While trying to get whatever 3 Chevron headliners they can that can appeal to pop, electronic, dance and hip-hop fans. That way they can fill the Chevron with younger weekend ticket holders and try to appeal to older fans with day tickets for a decent mainstage run with 3/4 acts that appeal along with the headliner. Then they will have smatterings of everything over the Radio 1 and Festival Republic tent, so that there are lots of alternative options.
