Iron Maiden is not playing at Download next year

Iron Maiden and Slipknot are a given. The only scenario in which Iron Maiden is not playing at Graspop is where they do their own stadium show in Belgium but the show in Antwerp took forever to sell out last year. Also, a sold out stadium show probably wouldn't be as remunerative as a festival slot

I agree. The number of headliners is getting crazy low, especially with more bands doing their own shows instead of festivals. I don't know how many healine bands will tour Europe next year. Iron Maiden is one. Slipknot too.

I wouldn't rule them out completely. I know there were talks a couple of years ago. Since the cap for the festival is not crazy high probably Maiden need to lower down their cachet

The festival does not have a clear direction on where to go with bands - they simply take who's on tour in that period. One year you get Prodigy, one year you get Slipknot.

They will be on tour and they ran out of places where to play in Czech Republic

Iron Maiden is coming

This year was 75.000, last time Maiden headlined was 65.000 (and the weather was good, something we'll never see again)

Maiden are like Gods for Copping, so they will get the saturday spot.

I asked a few questions around and apparently Maiden is headlining Donington. I don't know if the UK tour is happening at all, but maybe it will later in the year? Bruce Dickinson also quite confirmed this during his Swansea show by saying "see you in a muddy field soon". If this is true for real what a waste for Maiden fans. Maiden, Slipknot and Sleep Token it is. Hopefully the rest of the bands will surprise us, or Download 25 will go down as one of the most boring edition ever.
