  1. Then relegate Chelsea and Newcastle. The establishment can then be happy these unworthy rivals have gone and can consolidate their power. I say be careful what you wish for. I lived through a period of Man U and Arsenal taking turns with the title and that wasn’t great either.
  2. I meant those who run the clubs as they are the ones who hold the power. I have no doubt that the Liverpool owner felt FFP would be good for a club with an established income stream and fanbase. My view however is there is nothing “fair” about a system that creates a closed shop that others can’t break into. On that basis I’m glad clubs have found ways around it.
  3. The biggest losers from Chelsea, Man City and now Newcastle spending their way to success are the established clubs such as Liverpool, Man U and Chelsea. Those who would be rewarded by stripping Man City of titles are the establishment Liverpool and Man Utd. If cheating shakes things up a bit at the top i will turn a blind eye to it. Let’s not forget who was leading the charge in England for the European super league. Now don’t get me wrong if I have read the likes of Man Utd and Liverpool wrong and their priority is sporting integrity, more than happy to consider measures that really level the playing field.
  4. The counter argument is the system is set up to keep the establishment clubs at the top forever and stop anyone ever closing the gap. I can imagine Liverpool and Man Utd are terrified seeing Newcastle ready to pounce.
  5. If City have any sense they would try and negotiate a points deduction this season and move on.
  6. The thing is the likes of Allison, Robertson and VVD have got sloppy, I’m not sure it’s all down to midfield. They are also not losing to City, Arsenal, Man U etc, but teams with worse midfielders. I think you have to look at the manager when everyone is playing worse.
  7. Bournemouth are my certs. I support a 5th tier team and would have been disappointed if we had appointed Gary O Neil as manager.
  8. I am starting to wonder if the talented squad thing has been exaggerated. I think back at the great midfielders of the past like David Silva, Yaya Toure and Fernandinho. The likes of Grealish, Bernardo, mahrez and Rodri are a level down.
  9. I keep assuming Man City will go on one of those monster runs we have got used to, but every time Arsenal open the door, City seem to fail to take advantage. I look at the Man City midfield of Mahrez, Rodri, Grealish, Silva and it seems a downgrade compared to previous years.
  10. I’m thinking Southampton, Bournemouth and Leeds for relegation now.
  11. If Truss believed in these policies she could have called an election to get a mandate.
  12. Sturgeon says she doesn’t have the information to determine whether Bryson is a woman, my question would be what information does she need?
  13. I would refuse to go if he signed for my team, I think many would feel the same.
  14. Now Sturgeon states Bryson is claiming to be transgender as an easy way out. I thought this wouldn’t happen.
  15. Do you mean Ched Evans? He had to go below his natural level from memory, however then worked up. I think Sunderland kept playing Adam Johnson until he pleaded guilty.
  16. When they talk about key witnesses withdrawing from a millionaire footballer prosecution. I suspect many of will have suspicions about what caused those witnesses to withdraw.
  17. Unless he could come up with a really good excuse for the audio/video I wouldn’t want him at my club.
  18. Nothing happens without the ok of the teams at the top. How would it increase competition? It means squads who already had an advantage would keep the advantage and others couldn’t close the gap. It effectively protected the establishment.
  19. I suspect he backed out because he wasn’t getting picked, didn’t make the cut for Euro 2016 which is mad for a premiership player.
  20. Random question but what has happened to Paul Dummett? I couldn’t believe when I checked on Wikipedia and found he was still there. I remember him declaring for Wales and hardly getting a game which is strange because any premiership Welsh player normally gets a game!
  21. I love the FA cup, but it can break your heart at times!
  22. Couldn’t get a ticket for Wrexham today, having to watch with Lineker and Shearer instead !
