  1. I was surprised how poor Sunak was in PMQs. I personally don't see the next election being fought on Brexit or Corbyn.
  2. That would be fine as Sinn Fein don't stand!
  3. I think beyond left wing Twitter most have forgotten about Jez. It's hard to paint Starmer as a Corbynite when he was involved in removing the whip. I can't see the attack line working.
  4. I agree. I think there should be a proper recall system in place, but Turkeys don't vote for Christmas. The current system allows an MP to win an election and get paid the full amount even if they don't do anything.
  5. You may want that, but it's not how our system works. If you aren't happy with MP attendance you vote out in a general election. There is no recall system in place for constituent dissatisfaction.
  6. There is no obligation for an mp to attend parliament. Sinn Fein MPs don't attend.
  7. The 1922 rigged the election to ensure the moderate candidate won. I wouldn't call them far right, more establishment.
  8. The members should share the blame for voting to crash our economy to keep Sunak out, they in my view have lost the right to have a say.
  9. In fairness the likes of Priti, JRM and Dorries have to throw their lot behind Boris. It is the only chance of them getting a ministerial job.
  10. I think Boris would be better to sit it out and hope Starmer wins the next election. I think Sunak would be happy to have 2 years in the job and move on.
  11. Don't forget Roy Evans. Interestingly he was better than a few of the non sentimental ones.
  12. If Gerrard wants the Liverpool job, I think his best route is to get on the coaching staff.
  13. I don't think it will go to members. Think they will engineer something where the first is so far ahead, the second either pulls out or doesn't get to 100.
  14. Lloyd George selling off honours, then again I'm not sure that is a scandal in 2022.
  15. Sorry I wasn't clear. My point was Truss will be remembered as one of the worst PM due to her disastrous short tenure. Boris won't as he is one of many PM who got caught out by a scandal, we just remember his because it's more recent.
  16. Loads of previous PMs have had scandals. What will make out Truss is the length of her leadership. I think you are suffering from recency bias here.
  17. I have no doubt Boris put his weight behind someone he knew would fail to make himself look better. Truss will go down as one of the worst PMs in history. Boris probably won't be in that discussion. To me Boris biggest talent was to persuade a load or right wing people that he is right wing as well. The reality is he is to the left of hunt who the right wing torys seem to see as the ultimate wet. Boris doesn't really have any political ideology and is all about promoting himself. Providing the bonkers candidates Badenoch and Braverman don't win the next PM will be a move to the left which in my view is a good thing.
  18. Watching this shit show has convinced me even more than if Jez had narrowly got over the line against May it would have been a disaster. A PM who can't command the support of their MPs is destined to fail.
  19. Liz talks about leadership. So far she has crashed the economy, thrown her mate under the bus and won't come to parliament to take responsibility. Not what I call leadership!
  20. I'm no Hunt fan, he was the health secretary who believed in homeopathy! I do however accept he is slick and good at presentation. This is making him look amazing, coming in and cleaning the mess left by the kids.
  21. Hunt comes across as a grown up where as Truss and Kwarteng looked like students wanting to carry out an economic experiment. I have no doubt things will be a bit more stabile under Hunt.
  22. I thought it was a really enjoyable game, amazed there was only one goal.
  23. When Sam Tarry was parachuted by Corbynites in the last election, the members choice wasn't allowed to stand either from memory.
  24. Don't know enough about him to know of he would be a good MP, but don't all parties do things like this. Under Corbyn they managed to parachute Sam Tarry above the members choice.
  25. For all the talk of needing to get all the MPs to agree I don't think that's correct. If they can get 70 percent to agree they can whittle quickly to the 2 and get the second person to pull out. The precedent has been set when Leadson did this to allow May to become PM.
