  1. As long as there is training and defined pathways I agree it's fine in theory. You would have to monitor to make sure they aren't being overperscribed. My main concern is a health secretary who hands out antibiotics to people because they are unwell. Antibiotics don't help people who are unwell, they treat people who have got infections.
  2. I really hope I am wrong (as I like Aldershot) but can't see you staying up this season. Struggling to think of 4 teams I can see finishing below you.
  3. This seems fair enough. From what I have read the members preferred choice was prevented from running last time due to claims found to be false. So now they can have the MP they wanted.
  4. I can see WBA going for Wilder, seems like the type they would appoint.
  5. A decent draw for Wales, but could have done without pulling Turkey in pot 4. From what I understand the nations league means Wales could lose every game and probably still make the play offs.
  6. I'm sure Harry, Megan and Greta Thunberg all will get the blame as well.
  7. I think the likes of Braverman have one eye on a future in the right wing talk TV circuit.
  8. A couple of the most generous people I know are conservative so think it's unfair to generalise. I live in Rushcliffe which is Ken Clarke's old constituency. Voted against Brexit and definitely more of the types you mention.
  9. Nadine annoyed she isn't in the lord's yet, funny how vindictive these politicians are. A few weeks down the line it looks to me like the torys have given labour the dream opponent, right of Johnson and completely wooden. I think only Braverman would potentially be doing worse. I think Rishi or Mourdant would have been tough opponents, so potentially a bullet dodged.
  10. Some cracking fa cup draws in the northern half Blyth v Wrexham Anstey Nomads v Chesterfield Notts County v Coalville
  11. I wonder if they are now glad they didn't get Kane. Would they have gone for both?
  12. Josh widdicombe noted that trend from Cameron to Truss and said the only way down is skeletor.
  13. Is that any different to when Cameron won power in 2010?
  14. That requires the possibility for teams to bridge the gap without circumventing FFP, I'm not convinced that possibility has existed over the last 20 years. While I dont particularly want a system where teams owned by states are dominating. I also don't want the previous system where a team of elites built up a gap which FFP guaranteed they would always keep their places.
  15. Out of interest what kind of constituency do you live in? My friend who lives in a labour/Tory marginal is going to vote plaid as a protest that labour isn't left enough. To me this is mad as under our electoral system it only benefit the torys.
  16. How do you define fair? I would argue they took advantage of introduction of the premiership/champions league to build up an unfair advantage which couldn't be bridged without the Chelsea/City model. Financial fair play was brought in by the big boys for no other reason than to keep the advantages they had built up Note I would have no issue with a salary cap with a more true level playing field.
  17. Playing devils advocates but when I was a teenager it seemed Man U won the league 2 out of every 3 years and Arsenal the other. Is what we have now any worse, or is it just different?
  18. Isnt some growth likely based on regression to the mean? Interestingly the new message seems to be the tax cuts are only a small part of a mini budget dominated by the energy cap. I would argue that the potential money (if you believe it which I don't) from cutting the tax is also relatively small and not worth the political hit which shows their naivety.
  19. My MP was Rishi's biggest cheerleader and has just said nothing, I have looked at a few Sunak supporters on Twitter and they seem to have the same approach.
  20. I watched his YouTube video from conference and he seemed reasonably balanced in terms of policy platform. In personally find his piling on Starmer very counterproductive as anyone who is put off voting Starmer because they see Starmer as dishonest makes a Truss election win more likely. The reality is his choice RLB would have left the party divided and behind in the polls
  21. I guess Lawro is just trying to find a bandwagon that will accept him. I assume if you get on that GBNews rotation it's decent money.
  22. Competition to say "woke" the most in a speech.
  23. So do we expect the torys to go full out immigrant bashing, trans bashing and stoking culture wars in conference?
  24. Maybe they suspect they are on the way out so will redistribute as much to the rich as possible before they go. Considering they blamed labour for years last time, I assume they will take responsibility this time?
  25. Where is Liz Truss? Has she gone on holiday?
