  1. It would be great for Truss as she will have the chance to do the statesmanship thing. Come on Lizzy hold on for a couple more years!
  2. Liz is going to make it easier to see a GP. It's basically some red meat to throw to the electorate, but how will she achieve it?
  3. I only read wrestling results online now so probably not the best person to judge. I get the impression Tony Khan is a bit of a fanboy wanting to be loved by the wrestlers and the internet, as opposed to HHH who I think just wants to be the boss.
  4. Net spend doesn't take into account wages so not sure it's the best financial comparison.
  5. I think I would prefer the Chelsea job to the England job
  6. My view is Truss being elected kills off Burnham chances of getting the labour leadership. I just don't think they can go for a man next.
  7. I think it's as dumb as the last one, but with a less electable leader.
  8. Both Raab and Shapps were good comedy in interviews, no doubt there are new cabinets ministers who can be just as incompetent.
  9. What labour will need will depend on the arithmetic. My prediction is labour will still need SNP not to vote against a budget. I can't see there being any deals made in relation to independence. I think labour will make the SNP choose labour or tory and they will fold.
  10. By then we will be 14 years into a tory government, I think/hope the country has had enough and I can't see the public warming to Truss. My prediction is labour minority government with the SNP agreeing not to vote down budgets.
  11. Probably close the gap slightly when they steal a few labour policies. I think it's a good result for labour as neutralizes Starmer weakness which is lack of personality.
  12. I'm not convinced she is more ideological, look at how many times she has switched her beliefs. I think she just will say whatever is politically convenient at the time, not convinced she has an ideology.
  13. To me it's not just the officiating, but the technology gives a level of perfection that isn't needed and nobody was asking for. Look at some of these marginal offsides and these type of goals were not causing controversy in the pre VAR era. In this respect they have created a solution for a problem that didn't exist and made the game worse.
  14. It's hard to have any sympathy for teams who waste time. The trouble is sometimes the team who spend the whole game wasting time go behind and benefit from having the extra time to catch up.
  15. Agreed, but I am not sure any manager in the world gets villa in the champions league. I'm not sure what "realistic" success is at villa.
  16. Maybe if Liverpool had a lifelong fan running the club. I have my doubts the Americans would pass one of the best clubs in the world to someone who failed at Villa.
  17. What level of success would he need at villa to get the Liverpool job though. Success in Villa is probably getting in the top half, is that enough to get the Liverpool job? If he loses his job at Villa he is probably looking at bottom half premiership clubs.
  18. Brendan isn't a legendary player though. I just don't see what club in England would give Gerrard the platform to take the Liverpool job.
  19. I mean look at the teams who win cups and the average lifespan of a mid table premiership manager. I think him winning a cup is a big ask. I think a better pathway to the Liverpool job would be to have stayed in the backroom staff and hoped when klopp eventually leaves it's mid season, or stick at rangers.
  20. I wonder if Gerrard will end up regretting taking the Villa job. He clearly wants the Liverpool job, but I always thought the level he would need to reach at villa to put him in contention for that job would be tough to reach.
  21. My favourite documentary is the Sunderland but that's basically because it's such a calamity. I find the premiership ones a bit too sanitised. To me (but it may be my bias) this isn't as Americanised as I feared and as much about the people and the town. At the same time it doesn't make a joke out of anyone. I think it gets the balance right a d is a good representation of a lower league football club and a working class town/now a city.
  22. Cherno samba had a short spell at Wrexham. My experience with him on football manager and reality were very different.
  23. It may be my club bias, but welcome to Wrexham is definitely one of the better football documentaries!
  24. Agreed, but Trent in particular was targeted as weak link. The Liverpool squad looks lacking in depth to me. That bench yesterday looks more mid table premiership than title contenders.
  25. Horror show performance from Trent yesterday.
