Moto GP

Marquez is very exciting though isn't he? A pure racer. Very aggressive. So glad hes made the step up from Moto 2 and transitioned so easily. The joy on his face after having raced the last 10 laps against his hero is what sport is all about for me.

Marquez was great to watch and will inject some excitement for sure, Pedrosa must be a bit peeved already!

Rossi leaving Yamaha at the point where Lorenzo was starting to get the better of him leaves me with a feeling that it's going to be a real battle to get the better of him now, hopefully it'll result in some epic battles :)

I'd love to see Crutchlow on a factory bike for a few races, just to see whether he can mix it or not. Anyway roll on Texas.

Wow, first race I've watched for a couple of years, but it just came on as I was dumping myself down on the sofa. Great circuit, and some nice racing. Marquez was a real surprise. And nice to see crutchlow pushing his way up the ranks. And the BBC's coverage was its usual great self.

Marquez is the real deal. Great circuit yeah but too easy almost for the Hondas. There was only one non Spanish rider on the podium from all three classes. Taking over.

Good race, Pedrosa must be banging his head on the wall but hearing of Marquez's previous achievements, a betting man might of made a few quid.

I remember when there was only 1 Spanish rider of note in all 3 classes! Top 3 places in the top class yesterday, wow.

And if Crutchlow manages to keep going the way he is without falling off, who knows what ride he might get next year. Oh and in mentioning Rossi, wonder if front tyre was an excuse or he'll up his game.

Looking good going forward.

Can't believe Marquez has come in new, had 3 races without coming a cropper, pretty unusual for a new guy into the formula. Will he get a penalty I wonder?

Doesn't look like Marquez will get a penalty but it seems he's made a good friend in Lorenzo this weekend. It will be highly interesting to see how he progresses through the season. He clearly has the pace to mix it with the best and he has also shown that 'racers instinct' which i'm sure Lorenzo appreciated today. Just wonder if he'll have the consistency throughout the season to keep up with Jorge and Dani, and maybe Valentino.
Another great race for Cal also, especially given the conditions he was racing in.

Glad he wasn't penalised, think even Lorenzo admitted in the end that he made a mistake by leaving a gap. A little argy bargy especially on the last corner is always good for the viewing public, as long as nobody comes a cropper & has been missing for a little while. Marquez has brought some real excitement into it this year for me.

I agree. I obviously don't like moves like that, but no one got hurt, they both stayed on their bikes and finished well. Creates a bit of excitement. It is entertainment, after all.

Congrats to Marquez, something special indeed & the best 12/15 laps of any Moto GP i can remember.

Yeah one of the best seasons in the last few years. Still think Marquez is going to hurt himself at some stage. But hes so exciting to watch.

Hope Rossi can challenge next year. Hes sacked his mechanic Jeremy Burgess. Which is a bold move after 14 years. Looks like hes really going for it next year,.

I thought all year that Marquez would crash but he has such control of the machine it's unbelievable, riding it like it's an old two stroke 250!. Can only see Rossi beating Marquez if he has a faster bike to be honest.

Bit miffed about BBC & Eurosport losing the coverage to BT sport, can't afford to pay yet another subscription, somethings got to give :(

He came within about 6 inches of ending his season/career/life in Mugello at 175mph. An absolute miracle.

Hang on this is news to me. Its all gone BT?!

Yep, heard the BBC guys talking about the end of 10 years coverage, so Googled and found out they and Eurosport have lost it after 20 years. Can't get my head round it at the minute!

Available on streams. Race time 7pm.

Great first race. Marquez can break late when the heat is on! Wow.

Wow, didn't even know the season had started, 1st time in over 25 years that's happened, sucks it's not on the usual channels, have to look for a torrent! I think ITV4 have highlights or something a few days later.

Stream I saw was fine. The two lads from Eurosport are working for BT now. Great last few laps. Rossi looks like he means business. There was a ding dong going on and then Marquez posted his fastest lap of the weekend on the last lap of the race!

I'm not reading beyond the 1st sentence through fear of spoiler :) Be back when I've watched. Thanks for keeping the post alive and thereby letting me know.

Edit,

Good race, great to see Rossi mixing it up at the front, shame Lorenzo fell off so soon in tho but that Marquez fella, hmmm. Shaping up pretty much as last year I guess, hoping to see some close stuff to come & won't be missing the next race!

Missed Argentina, caught the last one, great first couple of laps, dull as dishwater after that, Marquez looks like beating all records unless he gets injured.

BSB taking pole position for me these days, some great racing there. And not too long til the IOM TT.

Don't know f you guys follow the road racing but Simon Andrews has had another horrific crash at the north west this week, that guy really needs to give up racing, if he actually survives this one, he's had some awful crashes these last few years.

Somebody has posted it on YouTube , which is a bit insensitive considering he might not pull through..not pleasant viewing and I'm surprised he survived at all!

TT practices start next Saturday, bring it on! the joys of living n the Isle of Man :)
